Also it is confirmed, the gold amount dropped from the bosses has been changed from how many players still left alive too how many players entered the boss fight. Awesome change on their part, just had a group in double rages and 1 guy died instantly, on the mantis's first attack and the second guy left shortly after. I managed to solo them and glad I got the amount of gold I rightfully earned. =]

Because of the Laser Cannon's start-up lag and its cooldown period, the weapon's maximum average damage per second throughout the entire boss fight differs from the absolute maximum damage it can do in one second (shown above). To maximise the average damage done, you need to fire the weapon continuously until it overheats, and then begin firing again as soon as it cools down, which results in the following calculation:

[(1050 dmg / 0.2 sec) * 10 sec firing duration] / (1 sec start-up + 5 sec cooldown + 10 sec firing duration)

= 3281.25 damage per second

For the M-2781 it's like this:
700 * 1 / 0.17= 4117.65-ish
Obviously 4117.65 > 3281.25 so the M-2781 is better than the laser cannon? Sweet!(even if you count the penetrating damage of the laser cannon you still don't get 1000 more power... Right?)
