I know... And I'm happy with this armor givEs a boost tO beam guns.

Thinking about upgrading my pack...

Anyways, nobody has posted in my thread yet.. I'm trying to get it so that we have enough people for a team dm or Ctf. So 8 people I guess...co-op is ok but kind of boring

Also we can have a set password etc.. So eventually we can have people playing there all day or whenever they want..

I'll set it up more with everyone's info etc..

There isn't really much you can upgrade to beyond the STK for PvP matches. In PvE, it's easily the strongest backpack there is, but there are situations where you may find other packs more suitable (e.g. using the FLOAT or Blademaster to ignore poison on Poison Pit and Serpent, or using the SAM to increase the gold you're earning).

As much as I have a game style for PvP, I'm much more frequently found playing PvE boss-runs. Combined with the fact that I don't really play much anymore (aside from when people post in the Match set-up thread when I'm free), I'm not sure whether you want frequent team members, or just anyone who's interested.

Just a question, out of curiosity: what do you want the player's eqiupment/rank info for? I'm quite fine with stating what sort of stuff I might use in a PvP match, but I'm changing my PvP equipment around quite frequently...

You don't have to, just for setting up a fair PvP match.. Eventually if I can get enough people... I play run and gun that's why I like this setup with max speed.. I've gotten used to gunning doWn Phoenix players etc.. With swords and bows shooting while running backwards etc..

Hmm...I might leave my name out of that thread for now, then. I generally don't add people on GC unless it's necessary to play a game alongside each other, and that's sorta in the "add me" forum :P

You can easily get around that in Star Warfare because of the in-built match search. Regardless, thanks for the add anyway :P

Shooting bows while running backwards, eh? Perhaps I would enjoy PvP...

The question I'm particularly interested in: anyone out there use the Cygni set in any gameplay mode? Last I recall, DBC said he was going to use that for a run-and-gun playstyle, and I'm actually a Cygni user in PvP. Anyone else here use anything unusual? (i.e. NOT the Perseus)
I haven't sprung yet, although I'm still debating (OK, obsessing about) the Cygni/Crab set we discussed. What would be a good set-up for PvP? Cygni/Crab or Lit?

Although PvP doesn't normally do much for me, with all the "noob" this and "pwn" that BS, I must admit to finding the idea of a team of relatively mature friendlies playing together intriguing...

Hmm. From what I've seen in PvP, it's not really possible to choose WHICH team you get placed on. A more accurate description is that we're going into a team match where all the players should be from TouchArcade, from what I understand -- the actual teams we get allocated to are random, but we can rest assured that they're all mature personalities from here

As for Crab or LIT...that's a tricky one. See, the value with the Crab is that its large projectiles and splash damage makes it easier to hit opponents with a larger margin of error. HOWEVER, in PvP, speed reigns supreme: you want to shoot down a player before they have a chance to run and hide behind something, which implies that the LIT is of a more suitable design.

HOWEVER (yet again)...if we're talking about PvP, there's a weapon that easily exceeds both the Crab and the LIT: believe it or not, it's the NOVA-27. The reason is because the Nova will become glitched if you play two PvP matches in a row.

Specifically, what happens is that from the second match onwards, the Nova's firing rate changes from 0.25 to 0.16.

This glitch is practically unavoidable without either terminating your game from the taskbar after one PvP match, or by going to play a match in any other gametype. The main thing you need to know is that a glitched Nova's damage output makes it about 30% stronger than both the Crab and the LIT.

Anyway...if you want to avoid using a glitched Nova, I'd suggest the LIT for PvP purposes: the beams are much harder to see than the Crab's plasma balls, so you won't immediately give away your position to enemy players. While LIT's projectiles also travel faster than the Crab's plasma balls, I'd say the difference is relatively negligible unless you're literally attempting to fire from the other side of the map.

On the other hand...if we're taking cost-effectiveness into consideration, get the Crab -- I think you're deadset sold on a run-and-gun playstyle for PvE right now, and I think the Crab suits that purpose much better than the LIT. You won't end up having to buy two weapons this way (though be warned that the Crab is significantly more expensive to upgrade than the LIT).

DBC I do think you will like PvP with Windblade and I like it a lot more now with full nova AND trinity. Cyngi/nova is fast and deadly in PvP and is a very good combination plus the nova is half the price of M-2781.

undead.exe I do use "other armor" like thunder sometimes, and hybrid. I have pulled outc perseus again and found it too weak for my liking now. Yeah, trinity + perseus isn't powerful enough. Hybrid is usually what I bring unless it is mantis, I enjoy seeing it die in the WRATH OF THUNDER. Take that WRATH OF MANTIS. (see what I did there?)

But I do play relatively less now maybe Mantis, PP, and Seigefried then random PvP rounds. Even in PvP perseus is too weak.

By the way, why would you want to avoid a glitched gun that is very cheap?

Maybe for "moral" reasons
