I can listen to my own music in ALL games.

First of all, I only have my iPod Touch (1st gen., 2.1 software) for a few weeks, so if this is already common knowledge, please excuse me. In this case this topic will move down to the second page in only a day, so it can quickly be forgotten.

Second of all, this works on my iPod Touch, I don't know if it will also work on iPhones.

Third, the game needs to have the setting to disable in-game music.

I've read lots of complaints about people who want to listen to their own music during a game, but the game shuts off the music and starts its own music. Actually the solution is very simple. If I go inside a game that shuts down my own music, I find the setting to disable in-game music. (I wouldn't want my music to be running through the in-game music.)
Then I press the Home button twice, which opens a popup with my music (which will be paused). I press the Play button, and my music starts playing, even in the game that just disabled my music!
Enjoy!

I'm not sure what action is mapped to pressing the Home button twice on an iPhone, so I'd appreciate it if anyone could tell me if this workaround would also work on an iPhone. Thanks!

Hehe ok. In that case, maybe one or two people will still benefit from this topic and then it can move down off the page to be forgotten.

Hehe I did figure THAT out.

But if it's such common knowledgde, then why all the complaining posts from people who want to listen to their own music when playing a game?

It doesn't really work on ALL games.

Some people (like me) want to listen to own music but also want to have the sound effects. Unfortunetely, not many games offer something like that.
The people complain because that is not possible.

We had this in the other threads and this does not work everywhere. Some games crash, some always try to restart their music and sometimes the game quits and the iPod application starts up. And the 1st gen iPod Touch doesn't have the buttons on the headphone...
