Well, as a developer, I would prefer making it right the first time.

If they could get it to work, look and run halfway as nicely as this:

I'd be in heaven.

Version 1.2 Update: It’s with Apple now…

Version 1.2 is with Apple now. It could be with you in a few hours or a couple of days. Sensitivity has been resolved by changing from double-tap to touch & hold for attacks, using items of equipment and in the Quartermaster/Swap screen. We found in testing this change that not only does to resolve the selection issues, but plays much better anyway. We have also added a pinch zoom.

We’ve fixed all the bugs such as (white textures on The Many Voices & Death By Gas) and the crashes at the end of turns/levels (it was all the same issue). There was another issue where if Brightmeer was killed in mission The Raid, it did not fail the mission as it should. So if you’re on that mission and he’s been killed, please restart it (or to last objective) so he is alive. If you’ve passed that mission he should respawn in but without any upgrades, equipment you might have given him.

Please note that while it is with Apple our testing continues and it is possible we’ll find an issue that means we have to pull version 1.2 and re-fix stuff. We’re confident this is not the case, but want you all to know the full picture. One of the issues in bug fixing is that as you fix one issue, you can often break another.

We’ve been really wowed by the support and patience of people. You all seem to get that we’re not some huge studio with hundreds of staff but an indie developer with just 3 of us! So thanks and we hope v1.2 allows uninterrupted gaming.

Thanks, The Red Wasp Hive.

I will pick this up when the update hits, since it sounds like they actually care about the game and are trying hard to fix it.
Seems like a descent game... will pick it up tonight

Update is out, and it appears to have fixed the missing textures - at least, mission 3 loads fine for me. Time to get back into this.

EDIT: Heh, beaten to it.

Installed the update, and it's playable and recommended again. Made it to the second dream with no problems or issues so far, and the gameplay is holding up well, though it's a bit on the easy side. Hold to target is an improvement over double tap, and I haven't used the zoom in much (would prefer a little more zoom out actually).

Overall it's very entertaining and a real timesink. Now if the devs would just implement screen flip it would get another star.

Just picked this game up, great job to red wasp team for their quick action to get bugs fixed, less than a week. Its like instant compared to other "developers" or "programmers" out there. Or in here.

Been playing the first few missions, running seamlessly without crashing, Controls are more responsive, wish i coud zoom out tho, but not a big deal, screen rotate would have been a plus, but also not a big deal.

now it is better but still would be cool if one could select by tapping on the square below and not somewhere on a char or enemies. also would be nice is to have ability to zoom out and an option to turn off auto focusing on a char after an action.

well, completed the game and should say it's great game. there are of course some flaws. for example in the last missions the game designers became lazy and the game was like empty battlefield with constantly spawning monsters and soldiers from nowhere. of course it made things a bit challenging. however with proper level design and clever placement of enemies the game could be much better. it was nice to see how different stats affected gameplay and tactics. there are not so many weapons but there is pleasant variety. the stuff with sanity, i understand maybe it's part of the world setting, but for this game it was rather shallow mechanic which basically brings nothing to gameplay. there are some bugs with achievements, like completing the game with score more than 10k and will all chars. but still, the game is very good, the price is completely ok. one could expect more from the engine and some more variety in gameplay, but after seeing credits and that the dev team is quite small, i just want to say it's great job.

Finished this up during a loooong airport layover, and even though it was enjoyable, it also made me wish once again for JA2 on the iPad. Nothing wrong with this for what it is, but as I played it there were just so many "lite" aspects I kept wanting more as I went.

I am a Lovecraft fan though, so no matter what I'll pick up a sequel in a heartbeat. It's more than good enough to justify a few buck price tag, and any improvements and/or additions as they go will make it more fun yet.
