To everyone who is not a teen

Bill Gates' best-known attempt at a videogame is now available on the iPhone and iPad.

Yes, DONKEY.BAS, the classic racing game - move your car so it doesn't smash into the eponymous ass - has been reproduced in all its 8-bit, 4-colour, text-graphics glory on iOS. Gates co-wrote the original version with Neil Konzen in 1981 to bundle with DOS on the IBM PC.

Does this bring back fond memories or what! Do check it out.

It's about as simple as games get. It's probably more of a novelty purchase for game historians and the like. It's kinda fun, a decent time waster. It works. It's got a pretty neat history, and a bit of a humorous premise. It's definitely not for everyone, but if you thought, say, akalabeth world of doom was cool, or any of the other unflinchingly primitive iOS ports out there, you'll probably want to spend a buck on this one. See the beginnings of Bill Gates.

I'm just a sixteen bit sprite in an eight bit game.
