A little promo video giving you a glimpse of my upcoming iTunes App Store release 'Audio Invaders' from stormy studio.

www.stormystudio.com is me.... an solo indie game developer... so go easy...actually no..don't give me the full honest truth... what sucks...what I should change and more... I'll post some more indepth gameplay videos soon.

Audio Invaders is a reworking of retro space games with a unique spatial audio twist. You use your ears to work out where the invaders are..move to their position and attempt to blow them up using array of weaponry... all in glorious 8 bit Black and white.

Hi world..

Thanks to everyone who has taken a look...

I appreciate the game might not be everyones cuppa tea...

But it hopefully is fun to play, and also a unique experience with the whole need for headphones to work out where the invaders are.

Current gun types
• Revolver
• Machine Gun
• Flame Thrower
• Lazer Canon

Considering adding a rocket launcher....

Also one idea from the first Beta tester is to add a flare gun option, to light up the sky...and make gameplay a little easier.

any other classic gun types I'm missing?

Also...any feedback on the first promo video. I'll hopefully do some showing full gameplay later...though as the main thing is the spatial audio experience its hard to get across in a video (any ideas on that as well?)

Audio Invaders Icon

Working on the game icon ready for the app store. Created entirely in Photoshop

I may re-make it in Adobe Illustrator so its vector based… trying to create something eye catching…whilst also portraying what the games all about.

After seeing this here and reading your blog, I have to say I'm digging the overall concept.

I like the flare gun idea that your beta tester suggested.

Will the game support Game Center at release?

Thanks for the post... on release at the moment it won't have Game Centre on launch...

- I've spent tonight on my game, adding the 5th weapon... a rocket launcher..

- I also setup a system so as you achieve higher scores more guns are unlocked permanently, so that when you collect the gun drop downs that come at intervals from explosions in the game it will cycle through more and more gun types... so far I have revolver, machine gun, flame thrower, laser canon and now rocket launcher.... I think that'll do for the initial release.

- Just need to do some testing, and tidy up my options menu a bit..and show which guns have been unlocked and which haven't.

Here's an image of the new weapon in action. the still frame doesn't really give much sense of the animation, speed and explosion... but its something I guess.

Aww man, that's a bummer. This will probably have a direct effect on sales, especially with GC becoming more popular. I actually try and live by the "no GC, no buy" rule, by I usually fall flat on my face.

This is another game that I'm really digging and will more than likely check out upon release.

Is there a schedule as to how soon you want to release the GC update?

Weird how thing happen, but due to an email I got last night there is now some hope that I'll be able to add game centre as well as some other social features. Fingers crossed it should all come together before the launch.

Awesome! I really only care about achievements, but it's good to know you figured something out.

I wish I could test the game out, but I'm currently a PC.
