Eight-Minute Empire, by Ryan Laukat, is a quick Civilization/Exploration game using card-driven area control.

In Eight-Minute Empire, 2-5 players take turns selecting a card from the six displayed. This card gives the player a resource, and also has an action which the player takes immediately. Actions help players take over the map, but the resources are worth points at the end of the game, so players have to balance the two aspects. Players spread across the map in order to collect points at the end of the game by having majority control in regions and continents.

Eight-Minute Empire is the super-quick area control game requiring tough decisions. Its easy to learn and perfect for when you only have a few minutes.

Congratulation: you beat me posting this.

Confession: I beta this one but I made little contribution to it...

Recommendation: It is lighthearted, fun, easy to learn, crazy to play strategy game for (almost) all ages. Best to play against 2 other people or more. The AI is good and there is a interactive tutorial and an complete rulebook.

Comment: the online game is async but the player cannot control over the size of the game. I have suggested the developer to allow setting up game with a specific number of players

Disclosure: No constant internet connection needed but there are IAPs : Mountain Expansion (additional game elements) costs US$2.99, 4 additional maps cost US$2.99 (each?)

Haha..
We were only testing the main game and all versions until the last, these inapp purchases were unlocked. Only in the semi final before the submission to Apple, were locked but obviously no one bothered to buy the stages..

So I love Euro board games but have never played this...I also like quick single player experiences on my phone...for example right now I often play Sodoku Sweeper or Age of Solitaire while waiting for a bus, in a long check-out line, etc. Does this game have sufficient replayability vs. AI to fit into that sort of niche?

Could you be so kind to inform the developer about that problem, please ...

Sadly, there is still no e-Mail adress where I can write myself ...

IAPS are wow

3.5euros for each? Plus 3.5 for mountains?
So the total would be roughly 27 euros? So the physical game is cheaper?
Can anyone please let me know if it is 3.5 for each map and what does mountains unlock?
This was poorly priced if the total goes up to 27...
Tks ppl
