You can either use another mobile device with enough memory (doesn't have to be iOS), or a build of Gngeo on your computer (eventually NEO.emu will also be released for PCs). Do you have access to either?

I played around with the overlays to see how they fare. I think the scanlines work best, frankly they look better than imame's although they could still improve.

Are the black lines really every other line? Normally the scanline should be every 3 lines, it should be 2 to 1 for the most accurate effect (I'm pretty sure about this but I'll google up and see what I can find). EDIT: http://nfgworld.com/mb/post/1702;?un...d7b1f086a41e05

This article is pretty much spot on imo.

Maybe it's just me but I find the scanlines2x somewhat redundant.

The CRT overlay is a good start but it darkens the image instead or rendering it livelier, imame's manages to be vibrant in such a way that I wasn't even sure it was an overlay anymore. I think the secret is in the rgb colors used although the shapes are also quite different.

I hope you don't get discouraged by the criticism, just though I'd give my honest 2 cents about it, you're still the king.

Do a search for MAME BIOSes. First result should net you the correct neogeo.zip

Thanks for the feedback and link, I'm going to keep experimenting and tweaking the filters over time. I'll take a look at imame's CRT filter try a similar color-based effect for the next update.

Glad to hear that.

Another comment about the crt filter, the vertical lines should be straight, it's the horizontal lines that should be uneven, at least from the way I see it, maybe this needs to be verified.

Here's a nice zoomed in shot of a crt:

This looks somewhat typical of arcade cabinets to me, I think consoles connected by rca or rf unit definitely come out different (probably more like the shaders CRT.openGL+NTSC) but this is a good look for an arcade system.

It is a shame Tiger Arcade could not be ported, since for Android, it plays the entire Final Burn romset, which is Capcom 1,2 and 3 romsets, Cave, Toaplan and all Neo Geo titles. That along with Mame4Droid plays most of the good games and a lot less space taken up for roms or digging to get 134 working.

Still appreciated, none the less! I am working on roms for 134 now for my Android devices, but way too many roms to dig and choose in a quick time frame. Tiger and the MAME 34 already have a ton of good games, so will take my time with 134.

I have a new iPad 64gb and an iPod 4 64gb, but emulators are no problem and work great on my Razr, Thrive and View and no "jailbreak" process needed.

I'm messing around with some colored CRT effects and will include a few in the next update

About scanlines, I tried to add a mode where they take up 1/3 of the emulated pixel height but due to the way the interpolation works, it was visually indistinguishable from just changing the blend level, so instead I added more possible levels you can set the effects to (7 different steps).
