![]() ALSO: in LoE2 the dash has a punching sort of sound... so jumping sound is the only thing missing... i ALSO noticed that in LoE1, if you fell or dropped from some place WITHOUT JUMPING, you could jump twice... like normal... but in LoE2, if you drop/fall, without jumping, all you get is 1 jump, as if you already jumped Last edited by Drexiel; 02-15-2012 at 12:41 PM.. |

So far, which admittedly isn't very far - almost completed the first world - I have to say that, while fun, it just seems to be more of the same with a new skin. Which is fine, I guess, but I can't help but feel a bit of disappointment. Still worth a buck, certainly.

I'm a big fan of this series, this sequel being the first iOS game I've ever sat and refreshed the AppStore waiting for. I'm wonderfully pleased with the game and am totally understanding of there being a handful of bugs that weren't caught before launch. In fact, I'm a little frustrated with some people's aggressive response to these issues on this board. What is this, the Internet?
I would like to put in my two cents though, as it's clear the creators are listening and interested in what we have to say here. The things I'd most like to see addressed are as follows: TO THE CREATIVE TEAMS INVOLVED: - I too am definitely unnerved by the lack of tactile feedback. (SUBTLE) Jump sounds would definitely be welcomed as an option in future updates. Tiny footsteps too would be lovely. - Having to have GameCenter loaded to have your progress saved and/or loaded is definitely bummerific for those with devices not always connected to the net. - Being able to run off a ledge and still have two jumps to use was a key strategic element of the first game and I find myself accidentally attempting this maneuver -- to my death. Was this intentionally left out? A great release that I'm having tons of fun with! The new graphics make things feel fresh and the music is, again, absolutely terrific. Hopefully the new look leads to increased popularity and more success for your teams. And thank you, thank you, for having such polished controls. Who knew this sick-day would be so providential!? |

as you said, the ability to jump twice after falling from a platform was a key element in most runs on LoE1... Maybe LoE2 was designed to be played without this? =/ As for the save issues... i haven't experienced anything on my device ._. by any chance, does anyone having save issues have iCloud on? i have iCloud support off.... and no save problems on any game |

Impressed by the controls, audio and visuals are all right, it's a neat demonstration you can do a precision platformer on iOS/mobile hardware despite what Team Meat might think... but Christ, the difficulty curve is horrible. Blitzing through some levels, dying countless times on others with no clue what I'm doing wrong. Currently almost hopelessly stuck on 1-19 since, well, this is probably going to make no sense without a picture but if you have no control over how you jump out of a wall-slide - you're only ever going to go at 45 degrees up and away from the surface - how the hell are you supposed to travel up a tunnel with spikes on either side? Yes, yes, I know it's because I'm useless, but the way the level is laid out there doesn't seem to be anywhere to jump to except straight into the spikes, and none of the 18 levels beforehand have taught me any kind of precision jumping technique that makes me think 'Oh, okay, I'm supposed to get through this by doing X, Y and Z'. I'm just dying (almost literally) hundreds of times trying to balance on the ledges in front of the spikes, because I don't see how I'm supposed to jump high enough to get to the clear sections of wall and start using those to cling on to instead.
Not sure how much longer I can put up with this. Dying over and over trying to 3-star something is fine, doing it just trying to finish the level is not, even on a game like this. Been a while since I played SMB, but I'm fairly sure they let you unlock more than just one level at a time...? EDIT: And of course as soon as I rant about it on the internets I pass it by blind luck... although now hey, look, it's crashed and not saved that I beat it. >_< It's a good game, don't get me wrong, but it could certainly use a little more polish. From what I have played so far, I feel like the game is fine without being able to double jump after falling off of something.
Also, the leaderboards are strange. What's up with the one up there with 67 people but the other one is specifically labelled as "easy". Why the split? EDIT: EightRooks, it is possible to just skip all the spikes if you get jump close enough from underneath them (off of the wall of course). You can just double jump right up that corridor. Or aim for the small blocks that separate the hazards. And really, to diddle around, you can even stand on the ledges of the spike things if you time it right. On a side note, I think edge-detections can be slightly improved. I have been on a few levels where I can stand off of a platform and just be floating. Hasn't affected me too much, but worth noting. so glad its finally out.
silly question: Do I need anything specific activated to use cloud saves or does it just use GameCenter info? Im still confused about the cloud save stuff.
