I just wanted to say something about the IAP...
I totally apprecieate where you're coming from on this; it's something I got wrong. The last thing I want is for people not to enjoy my games, and that means the whole experience. I'm going to rectify, by making the IAP cars, unlockable by skill. I'm not sure exactly what mechaism that will take right now; but I promise it will happen. The game will also get more levels, eventually. Hope that all sounds good! On a positive; it's currently doing quite well; at least in the UK, it's ranked #93 in all apps, #51 in games, #18 in games>arcade and #3 in games>racing. Thanks you all for your support.

I wasn't factoring in the sale at all becuase I figure most people who are at all interested are going to pick the game up in the first few days anyway. To me its actually not a bad deal. You pay a buck and get a fun little game to play and if you find you really enjoy it and want to compete for the top score on the leaderboards you pay another buck for a more competitive car... I do agree though that its the sort of thing that should be mentioned in the app description. But since you're going to make the cars unlockable anyway then there you go...

I've read a lot of positive reviews about the game. It seems to come up on Twitter all the time and I'm not sure why I haven't bought it yet. I'm not a big leaderboards type of player and buying better items in a game always seems like cheating to me. I've been meaning to buy the game anyway but seeing as how the cars will soon be unlockable it makes me feel better to purchase the game now.

Yep, I also made a mention of it in the description too.
It's getting good appstore reviews too, well, at least in the UK!.. where it's currently #48 in all apps, #33 in all games, #10 in games>arcade and #2 in games>racing. I like the highscores thing, personally; esp. if a game has instant feedback after a level and you can see how you've done compared to friends (or globally against everyone playing the game). Be interesting to hear what you think of it burn, if you decide to go for it. |

The game is fun to race! Love the power-ups on the track and the accurate physics and controls. Runs smooth on iPad 2. Recommended! |

I was enjoying this game, but just now opened it up to find all progress lost, only achievements remain. Anyone else had this problem?

Sorry to hear this; bit of a strange one. What device are you using? Also, can you remember if you did anything unusual closing it down? Like just switching off, or something? |

iPad 2, latest OS. I'm not sure exactly how I left the game prior to the issue. I usually just hit the home button from the race or car selection screen. I know I was using the game center app, then opened Retro Racing, I got an unable to load gamecenter message (something I have not seen before on my iPad) and hit "retry" while in the race select screen, backed out to the main menu and waited for GC to load, got the welcome back message from GC but my progress was still gone.

I'll see if I can replicate (on my iPad1), maybe a system glitch or bug that's outside the scope of my App, with it being launced from within GC (in which case, there's little I can do). I'll also double check I'm saving game state to disk between every race, I think I'm doing that already.. How many unlocked levels had you lost? Thanks, |

All of em
It's cool though, shouldn't take too long to get them all unlocked again. Thanks for looking into the issue.
