I think the "common sense" way to play iPad games is to place the device on a table or surface or possibly your lap, and use your fingers to control the game, not your thumbs.

I've never felt comfortable playing like that... Unless its a strategy/point n click game. I even use my thumbs while typing and playing shmups on my iPad...

I just bought the 2nd world ($1.99) and the level icons display, but none of them are red/selectable.
I did not get all three(3) recipes In each level on the first world; is this why i can't play world 2 please?

Ok, that's weird. In order to play the World 2 levels, you just need to have played through all levels in World 1. But, you had played all the levels and they are all red and have a completion time, right?

Which device are you playing with?

Yeah, the developer said that this upcoming update will fix the crash...

I had the same problem. However, I just replayed level 6 of the first world, and it opened up 2-1.
I actually found a bug on level 2-7; when I pick up the last recipe and two coins near the end of the level, the game doesn't register them, so I don't get the stars
Other than that, the game has been lots of fun. I hope we get some more levels in a future update!

Update... After a reboot, it seems to work on iPod touch 3G. Both devices are 32gb.
Can't wait for the update... A decent platformer on the ipt3g.

I have completed every level on World 1 and they are all red.

On an ipad2 ios 5. Thanks for th help, but still no glory.

Edit to add; I redid level 6 and now it shows. Definitely a bug out there though.
