Castle Conflict (FREE for limited time)

Hello all!

This is Stephen, the lead Programmer for Broken Kings, a brand new game development studio. Our first app, released for the iPhone and iPod Touch, came out today in the apple app store.

It is called Castle Conflict, and it is a medieval game.

The goal is super simple - to survive long enough to destroy the enemy castle. The field is [roughly] symmetrical, causing strategy and skill to be the driving factor behind the game (and a little bit of luck)

Players compete by building units, of which there are 8 different kinds, and a Theodore:
Woodcutter, Thief, Foot Soldier, Knight, Cavalry, Blimp, Bomber, Cannon

For a bonus for touch arcade members, we have released two promo codes, for the first two people to try it!

Congrats and welcome!

Welcome to the forums @BrokenKings! I took a look at the App Store listing and liked what I saw.

I haven't tried a castle defense game before, so I was pleased to see from the description that the game can be customized for different skill levels. But really, truthfully it was Sir Theodore Quentin III who swung the deal for me. I just love having a smashing good time!

I purchased the game and I am looking forward to playing later today when I have finished slaving away for the evil King (my boss).

Good-luck with the game.

Wow, I'm really impressed. I checked out your developer blog -- 8 days from start to finish. Incredible!

Very cool to see another Cocos2D user as well Definitely going to pick this up.

A few questions:
- I'd be curious to see "According to our xp-dev page, we have completed 95 of 106 tasks." to get an idea of how you think about the tasks. (If possible).

- When saving/continuing, are you using the NSCoder API or some other method? I always found this to be cumbersome/annoying; then again, I haven't been using NSCoder, like I probably should

Thanks!

As it has been requested, here is a little bit more information about the game:

The game is a game that operates solely on touch functionality.

For anyone who is interested in hearing any development stories, feel free to send a message to my inbox, and I will happily post a blog on the development blog that DaveMc99 found.

Thanks all for the feedback and I hope you enjoy it!
