Okay that does look better and I will grab it as soon as I get a refill. Right now I have like 2.72$ or something and yeah... Still some things to buy. Reminds me of GLWG, wonder if this'll have the charm that it had.

If you buy it, please let us know what you think of it!

By the way, we've just updated the video link to show the HD version.

I read on your game forum that your planning to submit an update next week which includes an added difficulty. I'm assuming this would be a harder difficulty, perhaps with more units or more enemy health?

Favorite mobile RTS: Autumn Dynasty, Amoebattle & Red Conquest
Great TBS/SRPGs: Wesnoth, Battle Academy, Kingturn, Pantheon Cycle, Dungeon Crawlers, SW&E, Viking Lords, Metal Brigade Tactics, Tactical Soldier, Ravenmark, Tactics Maiden and Banner Saga

The difficulty setting will adjust the combat mechanics. For example, if you select 'Easy', it will make the enemy units easier to hit. Also the difficulty setting will affect your campaign score.

Enjoying this so far. The game could use a zoom function for the iPod/iPhone screen size. Also, it would be helpful if you could still select a unit, after it has moved or fired, to see the attack range for the next turn.

We submitted version 1.1 to Apple today.

Here is a list of what has been fixed/improved:
  • Multiple Bug Fixes including an application crash issue when loading.
  • Added support for iPad 3.
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes dragging the map could cause the unit to perform an action.
  • New 2 player map (+ additional new 2 player map in the German Campaign IAP).
  • New difficulty settings. Mission score is adjusted based on the difficulty selected.
  • Improved pathfinding performance for the AI.
  • 2 new achievements and fixed an issue with the German Campaign Completed achievement.
  • Fixed Spelling / Grammatical errors.
  • Added button to unit help pages to toggle unit game stats / historical data.
  • Improved German Scenario 12.
  • Reduced memory usage.

We'll post again once the update has been approved

Game Impressions

I am enjoying this one quite a bit. This is surprising to me! I am what you might call a hardcore, old school grognard, hex and counter wargamer. This is obviously a totally simple, straightforward game themed on Tank Battles of 1944.

But it works. While it is aimed at the casual gamer whose eyes would glaze over at a more complex offering it satisfies a quick Shermans vs Tiger tanks itch that I didn't know I had.

In particular I am impressed by the tank graphics. It looks as though they digitized photos of scale miniatures, they look totally authentic. The Panzer IV ausf H. is instantly recognizable and the Tiger's look as fearsome as they should. The format is simple IGO-UGO with a unit either moving OR attacking. This may seem limiting at first but it forces tactical decisions such as using stationary units to fire while others bound which is historical. "Fire and Movement" combined arms tactics actually work.

Won't please the serious gamer, isn't any deeper than it looks, but a good product and dirt cheap.
