Will the irem drivers get an update? As their games at the minute run really bad. A shame really as I love R-Type

I have done some tests with the irem drivers and for sure there is room for optimization.
Basically speed could be improved a lot by using the arm optimized emulation core for nec v30&v33 processors. The man issue is I was not able to have them working with iFBA which is based on recent FBA core.
I did a test on an older version, based on the gp2x one, and it was really fast.
However the irem driver has changed a lot (the old version I used only supported "hook") and the current arm optimized emulation cores require more work .

Hi yoyofr, iFBA sounds impressive. Is there a chance you might port it to Android once you're happy with the iOS version?

For android there is Tiger arcade right? However cps3 run well apart street
fighter 3 series! Jojo runs at 55-60 fps with 0.3 version! Street fighter 3 series lag too much! Cps2 games and Neo geo are smooth like butter!
My device is iPhone 4s! Cps2 games run well also with an iPhone 3GS!

There is Tiger Arcade but it has issues - bilinear filtering is forced (ugly) and in recent versions every 20 seconds the emulation slows right down for a few seconds, which makes it mostly unusable.

It also has very limited game support, must be based on an old version of FBA.

What device were you trying to use? I fired it up on my iPad 2 and it seemed to run fine.

The good thing about tigerarcade is that it's accessible to most devices, retaining good performance even with lower hardware.
Beside the problems you stated, you must admit that most of the popular games out there runs great.
And cps3 status is similar to iFBA in terms of performance. But seeing how well it does iFBA in these preliminary builds its safe to assure that further optimizations will make it better than tigerarcade.

The only reason for a retro gaming nerd to own a powerful android phone/tablet is the vast presence of emulators that - god knows why - aren't there on ios.

I mean I tried n64oid and fpse on my old galaxy s and trust me having ridge racer type 4 or tekken 3 running in your pockets really hasn't a price.

Then there's Amiga, VirtualBoyAdvance and the list goes on.

Apple phones have a great hardware. 4s and iPad2 finally brought dual core to the masses and the difference in performance is striking.
Mortal Kombat on imame is an example how well the new hardware benefits the emulation core.

The dream is always the same: from my point of view were really missing psx up this point. N64 could come second on priority list, or even lower.

Once a psx emu surfaces on ios in a decent from then it's a goodbye to android. Until then the receipe fpse/tigerarcade/jarcade/n64ois plus all Roberto's awesome emus it's a no match for ios.

I'm still expecting zodttd to come up with something. He's not showing interest or support at all towards his customers which is a rude attitude.
You know if its free don't bother asking. But there's people who paid for psx4all and gpsphone, at least show some support.

Oh well time will tell. For sure, dear YoYofr, you deserve the spotlight because iFBA is the best thing happened lately to ios, hands down.
And people start donating.
