If you can't launch SGAS:

Open Settings App and turn WiFi off.
Launch SGAS. Once it's up, quit.
Open Settings app and turn WiFi on.
Launch SGAS and you can play online again.

Apparently turning Airplane Mode on, launching SGAS, quitting, and turning Airplane Mode off again before playing works, too.

Try to enter online with your two devices in a room and play for some minutes. Then the synch should work better. At least it worked for me. The sync of apples icloud does not work very fast, sometimes it takes longer than a day.

Yes the challenge is very short. But it a free add on from the developers. It's a give away. Right now there is the new challenge ready. Just restart you app and you will have access to it. This challenge will take you lots of time.

Read the fricken manual. Maybe it helps. Ask, if you have problems, and you will get a answer. But after reading your comment I can only say: You act stupid and you are wrong.

The problem was caused by apple and is solved now. You should be able to start the game without problems.

I think the increased file size has a lot to do with the new plane skins. Now you can repaint your planes by changing two main colors of the planes as you like. This new feature needs lots of additional space as far as I know.
