App description: Important notice Deck Buster is now included in Reiner Knizias Card Buster game released by BulkyPix.

"The game and the app are almost perfect: the rules and strategy are simple to grasp, but yield hours of gameplay..." - FreshApps

A fresh, fast and fun twist on the rules of Poker designed by legendary game designer Reiner Knizia.

Deck Buster is ideal for fans of card games and logical challenges. Simple rules are a perfect starting point for this new and intriguing game by master game designer Reiner Knizia.

At first glance, the task appears simple: place the cards to build strong card combinations, and with a touch of luck you will progress.

The number of cards, however, is limited, so they must be placed very carefully to score as many points as possible and to earn as many bonus cards as possible.

The game can be played in two different modes: Deckbuster 32 is played with a short deck of 32 cards. Deckbuster Wild is played with a full deck of 52 cards, but all 2s are Jokers.

There are 59 achievements waiting to be conquered, and leaderboards for the best players to compete for the top spots!

The game is out - I don't know why it displays the processing thing.

EDIT: Maybe it has something to do with the AppShopper.com site is delayed today.

It looks very polished from the screenshot, I hope the gameplay is interesting. Will download for sure.

So RK's take on Poker Squares?

It looks like he's combined Poker Squares with something like his already existing Lines of Gold.

I like it but feel it is a watered down version of BOTH Lines of Gold and the classic Poker Squares game.

The game summed up in a few sentences? Using only a very limited number of cards, you are tasked with placing cards, one at a time, in the game's displayed 3 rows to create valid horizontal poker hands. Creating valid poker hands will not only score you points but gain you extra cards to keep playing (the number of cards based on the value of the poker hand scored). If at any point the bottom row is filled with 5 cards, it will cause all of the lines to move down one, clearing out that bottom row and creating a new blank line up top. If after moving down a line the new bottom line is also filled it will also move down a line as well. So if you first filled the middle and top lines before filling the bottom line, you'll have all three lines scrolled off the screen once the bottom line was filled resulting in three new blank lines. The game also features a cute little extra mechanic in which the first time you score any particular hand type (pair, two pair, three of a kind, etc.) you'll get an extra 5 cards! The idea being that if the player can actually score all 9 types of poker hands in a game, the record of used combinations will be reset allowing your to once again score the 5 bonus cards for the first time each hand type is used again (good luck on scoring that Royal Flush, though).

While this game is decent, I just felt a little let down that hands are only evaluated horizontally and that, unlike Lines of Gold, there are no clever additional components like building up a multiplier or unlocking a place to hold an extra card.

3.5/5

After more play it is growing on me a bit.

I appreciate how the two modes 32 card and 52 card play a bit differently and actually have different sets of combinations.

32: While only 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K, and A of each suit, the allowed scoring combos are pretty standard.

52: Here you have the full 52 cards but the 2's are wild. Besides introducing 4 wild cards into the mix, the allowed combinations are a bit changed. Counted hands start at "3 of a Kind" and they add "5 of a Kind" as well as "4 Deuces" as the top two valued hands.

I am pretty happy with the game so far and think I will like it better the more I play. The graphics are really polished and the touch gameplay is great.
