No one said all 2012 titles would be freemium, but PG article did say all will contain In Apps. Anyway, I know GL is not the best dev, but goddamn did they make an awesome game or what!? MC2 and MC3 are like my all time favorite iOS games.

Apologies, the article was here....

http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Multi...&srch=gameloft

"All Gameloft games for iOS and Android released throughout 2012 will contain in-app purchases"

So i was wrong, i presumed that meant they were all going to be freemium and no doubt rely on the user to buy lots of IAP's like Six Guns for example. Because of what they did with Six Guns i reckon it'll be the same but we'll see. But in an earlier interview with i think Touch Arcade the Gameloft boss said they would release a mix of freemium and normal priced apps but from that link above i think its going to be freemium all the way.

And agree with Visionwebs, after Dungeon Hunter III i've given up on Gameloft, have most of their early games which were exceptional until they went freemium/arena based with their last few titles. Just ruined the Dungeon Hunter franchise

Modern Combat has IAP, but is a premium game. That's what they mean with all games having IAP, but not all of them being freemium.

But from what I've gathered, they have two divisions - the "good one" and the "other one". Guess which one makes what games?

I don't mind them going Freemium - as long as is means we still get some premium titles out of them.
I tasted splinter cell again and still was astonished by how high polished this game is when I compared it with other IOS games in nowdays. Even splinter cell IOS version is made two years ago.
yes, there'd also bad ones--- such as slient ops.
I am not saying splinter cell IOS is a good game, but it's still something in the IOS.

It turn out to be you are right. Gameloft coming back with their paymium/premium big games now.
They are getting better and better.

Gameloft may lack originality but they have some quality games. Like someone said already you shouldn't expect console quality for £4.99 (often 69p) lol.

I never tried MC3 due to the lack of space to have both mc3 and nova3 but how does the multiplayer compare with nova3?

Imo MC3 is better, but it's really down to personal preference. Check http://youtube.com/tscholll http://youtube.com/rusticgear (I got more in mind, but that should do) for some MC3 gameplay to help you decide. For me, it's my favorite iOS game of all time.

I've bought a handful of gameloft games. At this point I've deleted them all from my device.
I wouldn't make the argument that they're not worth what they cost. However I would say that I like gta 3 more than the gangstar series. Real racing more than asphalt ( not that the asphalt series is bad, or worse even than the nfs mobile games ). MC3 was good. Not my favourite FPS on iOS.
Obviously some people really like gameloft. Others really hate gameloft.
I'm in the middle. I appreciate gameloft for their success. Their failures have been fairly serious ( the freemium fiasco and possibly the upcoming paymium period ). I'm willing to give them the benefit of watching to see what the future holds and hoping for some great quality titles. I won't be holding my breath for them to redefine gaming on ios platforms though.
