Default 10.5.7 Jailbreak

Apple has recently released the 10.5.7 update for mac. What I want to know is if I already have a jailbroken itouch 1g, will it mess up my comp or ipod if I upgrade to 10.5.7?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I don't see how it could do any damage to it or anything. I would wait and check around the internet first and see if anyone else has had trouble with their jailbroken iPod since the update

No, the only updates you need to hold back on are iTunes and Firmware for your device. Every iTunes update Apple adds a little something to make it harder for you to connect to a DFU'ed device which is what you need to jailbreak. And we all know Apple likes to mess with the firmware too.

What? DFU mode isn't just for jailbreaking, so why would apple try to make it harder for people to use it?

Because it's the easiest way for us to jailbreak. Remember when they removed the device indicator that it was even in DFU mode? It's just to annoy and frustrate us

What are you talking about? iTunes will see the iPod in recovery mode when it is in DFU mode. DFU mode is for the problems that can not be fixed with a reboot, and when iTunes does not recognize your iPod. Without DFU mode apple would have to deal with many, many more returns.

I'm well aware of what DFU mode does.

When the iphone first came out It had a special icon that was on screen to let the user know they had successfully entered DFU mode. Somewhere near the release of 2.0 they removed the icon so that an iphone in DFU mode would just have a black screen. This did absolutely nothing other than confuse those that didn't know what they were doing because all the instructions available online made reference to a screen with a dock connector and the itunes logo that confirms you are in DFU mode.

DFU = Device Firmware Update

Which is what you do in Recovery Mode
