i have played the first 2 cups on both the ipad 3 (whatever it is lol) and the iphone 4s. the smaller screen seems to give the illusion of an increased sense of speed but i am enjoying it much more on the ipad if for any reason just being able to see the tight turns ahead better and yeah the vette is awesome but a bit much on the later tracks. i think its great. i wouldnt mind if devs put some of these types of games on the vita

Not that I've seen so far. If there is any, it's definitely not in your face.

Can you listen to Ipod music while playing? I listen to a lot of podcast and find myself mostly just playing games that I can listen to them while playing.

Yes, you can listen to your own music, just turn down the music volume in the options menu.

Default Game Impressions

Fun game. Nothing remarkable or groundbreaking here, but a fun game. In feel probably most akin to Mini Motor Racing, with a pinch of 8/16 bit flavour thrown in.

Longevity feels a bit suspect, as the AI racers aren't much challenge, and there is no online multiplayer. If you have friends to play local with, obviously that changes matters.

No way to enter your name; the game defaults to name of device which feels like an oversight and should be fixed.

Overall, easy recommendation for top-down racer fans, but not something you'd pick over Mini Motor Racing or Reckless Racing 2.

EDIT: Additionally this badly needs the option to reposition on-screen buttons for the iPad.

I'm getting really, really tired of this oversight in games on the iPad...

I did spend more time with the game on my commute, and I'm really digging the N64 vibe: the colors are bright and cheery, the music really fun and upbeat, and I like the way the announcer says "GO!" when a race starts. The actual racing gameplay seems to vary a lot depending on the car you choose: on my first try at the first championship I used the "Corvette" which is really fast but has very slippery handling. The first two tracks were fine since they are fairly straight, but once you start racing through residential neighborhoods it's kind of a joke. I'm starting again with the "Mini" and I can already tell that the handling is a lot crisper. They AI on normal seems pretty good; I like the fact that the drivers make mistakes and need to reset from time to time, which is a much better way to keep the pack than traditional rubber-banding. The tracks themselves are fun, with plenty of variety, tons of destructible obstacles, and hazards like waterways and jumps. On the 4S the framerate is excellent (though I guess that shouldn't be a surprise).

I'm not going to say anything conclusive about the controls and handling till I get a chance to try the narrower tracks with the "Mini." I do like the fact that car selection matters, but the devs may have gone overboard with the "Corvette," which was pretty frustrating to drive. But the rest of the package strikes me as fun and well made -- I'll report further in a while.
Thank you for your impressions Squarezero. Much appreciated.

Gabriens mention of the controls have put me a bit off though.
I really need to be able to have the option to reposition controls on the iPad.
