Why not just keep it all in one app and when someone chooses to play a battle mode you just let each player select 3 different trinkets and they will be maxed out upon selecting it and let them choose one boost.
I took a break from the game because it was just consuming too much time from work, it can be addicting at times and because I was waiting for the battle mode.
To me I would rather one app then a couple of apps to do what I want.

That's my 2 cents.

Umm, I think I mentioned it will be all one app It is both an update to the current version and will also be a stand alone free version (which won't have tournament mode).

Also Battle Mode has its own set of items... None of the current trinkets can be used it that mode.

Hey guys, the update with the new Battle Cup is processing for the App Store and should be ready any minute now!

This new update includes:
- NEW BATTLE CUP! Challenge your friends for fun or battle your way through random opponents up the competitive ladder in 1-on-1 battles, complete with all new items and trinkets!
- NEW CHARACTER! Bruiser, the big guy In tournament mode he focuses on pure speed, and not much else. He boasts a massive TEN max speed.
- Added GC leaderboards for best times (of all time) for each cup.
- Lots of UI tweaks, balance fixes, and bug fixes.

We really can't wait for people to get their hands on this mode!

Also, the stand alone free version with just the Battle Cup in it will be available Thursday, May 24... so make sure to get all your non $$ spending friends in on the action when its released

Sorry, I must have miss understood someones else post and assumed the update was going to be a stand alone app that was going to be free. Just downloaded the update and about to sync in just a sec. Looking forward to coming back and taking my lead back from Asasnator.

Hehe Don't forget now we also track all time high scores (click the GC icon in the Cup Leaders tab), for more long term bragging rights Unfortunately due to the nature of the system, it will only include high scores from now, onwards... so old high scores will not be on these leaderboards :/

Also, if you directly challenge someone in the new Battle Cup with name input, please keep in mind it IS case sensitive. Feel free to share your user names here!

Hmmmm, sigh... What items were you using? Did it crash as soon as you finished the race, or when you pressed "done?" Did you type a message both times? Are you using a GC account?
