This quality vertical shooter (with a recent, excellent update) is free for the first time since December 2011.

Any shmup fan with an iPad who doesn't have this should definitely pick it up. It's not quite in that top tier of iPad native shooters (you know which ones I'm talking about) but I'd put it solidly in that next best group. There's no reason not to get it free even if there is a Cave release this week

The recent update was huge so the developer is obviously still invested in the game.

If you're a true shmup fan you have an iPad.

Fun game but ship are overpowered. Are you going to fix the X3000 HD iPad3 retina problem?

So I wasn't a true shmup fan until last month?

I can't even remember the first shmup I played. Musha on the Genesis was from the 80s but I even had a 2600. Can't remember any shmups from way back then though.
