The official word over the Ascension thread is that the SoS pack also includes iPad Retina update.

P.S. I guess we have yet to meet at Ascension, hope to see you soon.

That's fantastic! Between the "warmer" (yellower) hue, and the fuzzy graphics, I'm not enjoying Ascension on my new iPad.

I bought this game on day 1, but just tried the tutorial today. OMG, very confusing, especially compared to ascension. wondering how long i can learn how to play this. Looks awesome though...

As one who has never been on the physical card game, I guess the hardest part is the whole sequence of game mechanics, it is a basic understanding to know what the chained cards do and who attacks next, so to say.

Do not let the small pool of "hit points" fool you, a skilled opponent can end a game much faster than you expected (11->0) in one round.

YMMV tough, it took me 3 days offline and another 4 online games to get a grasp of it. It is more duel like than Ascension and I think you would like it.

The tutorial is definitely underwhelming. The game is worth it, so I'd say stick with it. Do the tutorial at least twice, play at least 4 three-player AI games and if possible, look at the entire rule book at boardgamegeek. Afaik, there are also a couple of videos.

Yeah, it's a lot of work but it's worth it.

While I do have lots of experience of TCGs from my distant past, I've never played a deck building game before Nightfall, I'm not particularly clever or proficient at board/tabletop/card games, and I'm not even notably dedicated or ambitious But I grasped most of the mechanics of Nightfall in 5-10 minutes, and had them all down in twenty minutes to half an hour. So my guess is that many of you will pick up every single mechanic and rule, and gain thorough understanding of how they all fit together, even quicker

(I will admit that Nightfall was the trickiest yet, even at its still rather quick half an hour of complete learning time. The mechanics of Cabals took 5 minutes to grasp, Ascension about the same, Shadow Era not even that long, and Assassin's Creed: Recollection, by far the most sophisticated of that bunch, perhaps 10-15 minutes of reading plus tutorial.)

Go to the Board Game Geek Nightfall page and view the videos for the physical game. There are plenty and will help you with the game.

I'm going to try and learn this to prep for MTG coming in May/June, hope to see some of you online once I have the mechanics down.

Camzy, I don't see you on my "friend list" here but still on Ascension. Strange.

We'll see her once she plays an online game. No one shows up until then. Hopefully soon!
