Aah. Thanks for the tips!!

I had never played it that way before. Admittedly, I have the 1.0 rulebook, but it says, "If you have any minions in play at the start of your turn, you must use them to attack other players. Each minion attacks one of your opponents.". (This is from the Combat section.)

Then in the Chain Phase section it says, "Often the game text on a card will tell you to inflict damage on a player or minion. This damage is resolved the same as damage inflicted during the combat phase."

This made me think that you couldn't target your own minions, but I guess I was playing wrong....

But, hey, if you want to add me now while I'm still attacking my own minions, I'm tecwrtr on GC. :-)

Yup. This is still a big problem. Let me spell it out precisely:

1) Try to connect to server. Fails initial attempt.
2) Try to connect to server. Success!
3) Pull up Friends list. Empty.
4) Restart app and go back to 1)

Seriously, I've been a supporter of Ascension since day one and have sung its praises on more than one forum. It remains my most-played game to date. However, after Food Fight and now Nightfall, I'm ticked. Really ticked. How is this not fixed yet on Playdek's end?

Yep best advice on how to learn to play. I watched the Dice Tower/Miami Dice review months ago, but this is what helped me get up to speed on playing and develop a basic strategy.

The AI is somewhat challenging, a little predictable but mostly makes good card buying decisions. So far it's more of a challenge tha the Ascension AI. GREAT game so far, thanks Playdek!

Read it from news, punched the buy button and still earning the ropes. Dang, has to unlearn all the gorram Ascension play to get into this. See you at the middle of the night some time fellows!

I would like to make a change request!

When playing Nightfall, please don't kick me back to the main menu when I receive an Ascension notification.

Lol! Weird, that didn't happen to me! And the ascension notification was from you!

guys, 1 question... if your opponent is attacking you with a monster of 2 health and 2 attack. you're blocking with a monster with the same stats.
do you get to deal damage back to it or since the attacker strikes first, it would killed yours already?

I think i had sent my minions to block and they never came back.. LOL

Nightfall is different from Magic or other games. After your minions attack, they are automatically discarded. The defender never deals damage back.

The only reason your minions even have hitpoints is that they need to survive until the beginning of your turn before they can finally attack.
