I didn't expect this to be released in the US so early. Nice Monday morning surprise.

Now, if a mod can just change the title... :)

How do you know it's awesome if you haven't bought it?

Want this so bad, but too rich for my blood. Not that it isn't totally worth it, but I can't swing it right now, especially with an extra buck per song. Great series, though. Not too practical for my phone anyway at just under a gig. I'm guessing it's closer to a 1.5-2 gig after install and/or extra song downloads. Best wishes to those who can enjoy it, though. Already in love with the music.

Well, i have the game in the japanese version and since it came out.
the game is about 840 Mb so with the time the size is reducing. When i got it was more than 1gb.

All 12 songs are there to unlock while you play. If dlc will cost money we don't know but i guess sega is now busy with the new Project diva game that will be revealed this thursday so it might take a while to have new songs.

I really love the game and the price is a little high but i like miku and the game it's quite nice and the videos are a nice touch and cool to watch.
Only a shame that on the ipad theres a little decrease in quality but i guess it was so the size wouldn't be even bigger.

Now that's a review that goes straight to the point. xD
But that was my exact reaction to when i got the game.

it even was when i got the ps vita and instead of playing the vita (which i manly got because i wanted more deeper games since ios gaming was starint to tire me) i was playing the miku flick xP

Default Game Impressions

Instabuy.
  • Videos are scaled up on an iPad, unfortunately. This is OK with me though, seeing as the game is already a whopping 890+mb. Ten-key is sorta intended for a phone-sized device anyway!
  • The songs are full length songs, as opposed to short excerpts. Thirteen total, looks like. Tastes vary - I'll be spending a lot of time on the Kz and supercell songs myself.
  • Menu interface is a little clunky, but actual ten-key gameplay itself is fine.
  • I haven't tried anything outside of the original keyboard, but the game offers a "roman-support" option in addition to the "full roman" keyboard. Which is nice!
  • The game serves as great motivation to improve ten-key flick typing! Unfortunately, this is sorta useless as a practical typing tutor in English, as there's no real equivalent to ten-key at this point (iPhone standard keyboard with autocorrect / Swype / Swiftkey anyone?)
  • Normal and Hard mode are fairly forgiving, but there's an extra mode called "Break the Limit" after Hard mode that requires you to type out the lyrics along with the song. I've never failed so hard at ten key before
Bottom line: this is for people who love Miku, for people who want to learn to proficiently flick Japanese characters on a ten-key pad, and for people who don't mind shelling out a few extra bucks to do so.

Default Game Impressions

Japanese girls will destroy you at this game, because it's based on the chording input interface used on Japanese phones; tap a character on the 10-button pad to display 4 more characters. The quick method is simply to flick in the direction you've learned the sub-character is nested. It is possible to become very efficient at this and, hence, extremely fast, which is definitely required at the highest level of play. The first few songs are 2-stars on Easy Mode, but later you unlock free songs that are like 10 or 12 Stars at 150 BPM. There are incredibly awesome and incredibly hard, because you will have multiple characters stacked on one button, multiplied by however many buttons are active, each with different timing. Notes slide left on the bar from screen-right and you time your character input to match when it hits the circle on the left of the bar. They are actually pretty generous with the timing of the tap, in my opinion, and I actually wish there was a mode that required better precision. Knowing Japanese would definitely help, but I'm managing fine without. Part of the cost justification is that, not only does it feature teen idol Miku, but there are accompanying tracks and videos for the songs. Like I said, I love it, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but the most dedicated Bemani players in the US.
