^I found GTA's controls really well so i expect something similar.

Huge filesize but was kinda expecting that, started deleting a few spare apps now and freeing up space ready !

Sorry but just had to chime in here. The file size is really bothering you that much where it's a deal breaker for you. Smh. I can see if it was 10gb and you were forced to delete everything just to install it but at 1gb I'm sure u can make it work. You should be thrilled that it's only 2.99 and not mad because it's over a gig.

When my maximum monthly internet consumption is 10 GB, it becomes a problem. Also, if I were to go over my limit, 1 GB = 10 dollars, so I'd essentially be paying $13 for this.

Cant you change your monthly plan ? Or go to a friends house who has unlimited internet and download it there ? I cant download this on my iphone due to the huge filesize but i'll go to my sisters tomorrow so i can download it there ! (As i'm working away from home tomorrow)

Yep agree with that, its an epic game and it was always going to be a huge filesize. Dont get me wrong i think i'm like others when i 'horde' games on my ipod and have to deinstall some to get a game like this. But its obviously easy to temporarily delete some/re-install later on.

For Max Payne i'm happy to deinstall a few games and play this one non stop for a while

This looks like the original PC game that was released...what, over a decade ago? Why would this make anybody excited? Dated graphics, dated gameplay, shoehorned onto a touch screen is all I'm seeing in the screenshots.

Because retro games are popular, not all of us played this classic back in the day and for those who did its brilliant to come back to an old classic and have this in the palm of your hands on your iphone/ipod.

I'm sure there must be some old PC game you loved and if you heard it was coming to iOS surely you would be excited by that ? I love having old classics like Tapper, Street Fighter, Dragons Lair, Space Invaders and many others in the palm of my hand so i can have a quick go whenever i want.

Its like GTA III, loved it 10 years ago on my Playstation 2, now to have this game on my ipod and play it whenever i want - just amazing. Looking forward to Max Payne as i missed this one back when it was out.

Dated graphics ? MANY retro games have dated graphics but they stand the test of time. Give me a 'dated gameplay/graphics' game like Max Payne over many other new iOS games.

For those who arent excited simply dont buy it. Pokemon/Happy Potter games i cant stand so i simply dont write in those threads.

And what next ? Dont watch black and white films as theyre outdated ? Dont listen to old music ? Its not about the 'outdated graphics', for many people its the memories of playing this years back and playing it again (Like watching the first series of an old favourite tv program etc). The gameplay 'should' be amazing and for me thats what counts. Its like kids saying 'why are you playing crappy ipod games for, get an X-Box 360, the graphics are far better'.

Max payne is still, to date, a great game with a unique atmosphere. With full retina graphics i think it still looks good but what matters most is the gameplay and story and max payne delivers on those fronts. I can't judge about the controls though so we'll have to wait and see but sometimes you don't have any other way but to put virtual sticks and buttons and it works well with modern combat for example.
Like GTA III this is an old but great game. For those looking for new experiences that are only on ios, i think crows will be the one to choose tonight. And for newer console lile experience burnout seems to be the way. That's what i like about IOS, there's a little something for everyone!
