Out of the 5 purchses I made today, this has been the best one. The controls are spot on, where each failure is your fault and not because of some random component or failplementation in the game.

Also, I changed speed to max. So far, this is becoming one of the best pseudo-runner experiences for me. Graphics are pretty good too.

Wow guys!
I, Craig Kohlmeyer and my partner, Henning Koczy, are so overjoyed by your response to our game. It's great to see people that really understand what we were trying to achieve. Comments like these have made the long process all worth while!

On a side note to iPhone4 and iPod Touch(4th Gen) users, I strongly recommend sticking to Starbounder SD. It plays much more smoothly, especially in later levels.

Thanks again! Hope I didn't intrude.

God damn it, it just seems so easy in my mind to make this kind of game super awesome, a Wipeout-inspired endless runner if you will. But every attempt of this type on the App Store has been flawed and mediocre and this one isn't exactly winning me over either.

It's completely different from Wipeout. Check out some videos of SkyRoads and you'll see that this does exactly what it set out to do perfectly. It isn't anywhere close to being an endless runner as well.

Looks awesome. Any chance of Game Center getting added for both leaderboards and achievements?

This isnt really a racing game. Traditional racing games focus on tight curves and get-to-the-finish-line-before-everyone-else-does objective.

Starbounder is more of a platformer-ish runner game because of how much emphasis the game gives on Jumping and avoiding gaps on "platforms" and obstacles while trying to get through to the finish line.

I think games similar in concept to this are Motoheroz, 1000 Heroz, and maybe to some extent, games like League of Evil and Kung Fu Rabbit. That may sound weird, but their concept is much more comparable with Starbounder, with the added spaceship theme, a chase-cam view and the runner (auto-accelerate) mechanic to make the game different.

It may be possible that some players may find this game bad because they had the wrong expectations and comparing it to something a lot more different.

My $0.02.

EP's spot-on... this is essentially a platformer.

Oh, and of course... welcome Studio Radko. Needless to say, I think Starbounder's fantastic.

Welcome to toucharcade. Not an intrusion at all, in fact devs that are active here generate interest and respect, typically.

Nice work. You really nailed what you were going for in this game. Good luck to you.

Argh, just when I'm making progress on my own Skyroads/Trailblazer-inspired game, a good-looking one comes along!

Will have to give this one a play, looks nicely done

( Very early work-in-progress video of mine, working title 'Skyriders': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06oawd1hHiQ )
