So, I've been playing this one more, and while it is a lot like Galcon, I'm also finding this has more strategy involved. You can only link each orb to a certain amount of other orbs, and your tenticle needs enough power from the orb to reach the orb it's going for. Then after that, you need to make sure you have enough energy to attack that orb as well...
Whem you're going against 2 or 3 different enemies, it can get VERY challenging VERY quickly. I'm definitely enjoying this a lot more than any other Galcon title I've played... And yes, there are 3 star rankings for each stage, based on how many moves you make, and how quickly you can take over the enemys. It's a great strategy game, especially for $3! Definitely recommend it. Not to mention the multiplayer! |

How much does time count towards getting stars? I love puzzle games, and this looks very good, and FDG generally makes great things. But, I tend to be a distracted gamer, meaning I generally am doing other things, and so having time count makes it hard for me. If time does count, is it so important that you can't advance with poor times?

No, you can advance with poor times... But not too poor. You need to be reasonably fast, or else the enemy will take you or necessary orbs over and then you've lost.

@pluto6: As syntheticvoid stated, it will be the enemy and not the clock that will put you under pressure. If you find the right strategy to solve a level, you have plenty of time to get 3 stars. If it takes too much time to solve a level, you should rethink the strategy. Anyway - the score and stars are based on time and cell energy. |
