I've been wondering the same thing. The first island generates lots of coins, but that pesky fog is still there. All the quests are done for that islands, too.

Two things here...

If someone has already recommended this then my apologies. If you build a wide path over the small stone paths That get in the way and then delete the wide path you just built, both of the paths are deleted allowing you to use the land more efficiently.

Secondly. Is there a way to use the Zeppelins on the iPhone version? Or is that part o the new update that hasn't been released on iPhone yet.

Well Im fessing up.....I ended up buying the coral, tried for days re Hotel and as I had already upgraded it to lvl 3 before the coral quest, I knew the last upgrade would only maybe give me one coral and not ready to build another Hotel, so made the decision based on this.

I have been trying for three days now to get even 1/3 tubes of paint from the bathyscaphe and one miserable paint brush from the cave....no go and still don't have the quest back to build the large bathhouse nor the lighthouse.

Latest quest is to do three lengthy deals in the Hotel.

Have you had the two quests I mentioned and where do you need to get the light bulbs and pouf from?

Yes I have completed the quests and if I remember correctly after the hotel quest you need bulbs and a ladder... Would you believe it the bulbs are in the bathyscape the ladder is in the cave. Poufs are in the cave for the big bath house

As for the coral... Upgrading a second hotel had no effect. Busy ordering different types of deals ;o)

You can demolish the paths anyway from within the move menu. Saves time this way.

Success! I built a third hotel, and in the course of upgrading it, I found the third coral!

I didn't have to spend any gems at all. Two corals were found in the second hotel, and the third coral in the third hotel. Perhaps the experience or happiness level also helps? I'm Level 44 for both experience & happiness (on Atoll island).

I just started playing this game and I think it's brilliant.
I'm still on the first island, but I'm grasping it quickly, now that I have this handy thread around it. I've gotten some questions answered here just from reading it

I have quests to build houses on the first and third islands, but it won't let me until I reach the next happiness level. So I build or buy something to increase the happiness to the next level and then try to build another house, but it's still blacked out! It wants me to go to yet another happiness level. This has been happening. Is it a glitch or do I need to do something else in order to build houses? Please help!

By the way, my villagers may be getting happier, but my happiness meter is falling fast.

Not a glitch as such but definitely very annoying
There's been some previous discussion on here about this and the best thing to do is to build something with a high happiness...eg another museum, school etc.
My thoughts are to try and keep your happiness level a little above your workers level...sometimes if they are on the same level, there may be a worker that's in hiding (had this happen a couple of times to me)

I've got 3 museums on first Island, 2 Schools....sometimes another cafeteria is all you need as they don't take long to build?
It can be a gamble too cos then a quest may pop up telling you to build the item you just completed don't think this happened to me though?
