Aggh, looks like I'm going to have to somehow sneak out to get another iTunes card at the grocery store or something (those many little charges on my charge card are just too blatant for my wife to see where my priorites lie
).Was hoping this would be a slow week, but don't think there's anyway I can resist this one. Simply looks too awesome. |

I guess this is "alright," but in every aspect (visual, aural, gameplay) there are much more accomplished dual stick shooters out there. You are a ball shooting other balls. That's it? Is there really no variety at all? No respite from the basic move-straight-towards-the-player AI? By wave five or six I was starting to feel pretty bored and felt no real desire to keep playing. Actually, scratch my initial assessment; this isn't "alright" at all. In fact, as far as gameplay alone goes, this feels primitive by today's standards. Actually, scratch that; by standards of a couple of years ago.

I hope you'll try the game some more and at least try to reach around wave 20 or so. You'll have seen all the enemy types (though not all the wave variations), and will hopefully understand the powerups and Ballistic mode by that point (it does more than slow down the action, the Ballistic shots also penetrate shields). The game does take a little while to build steam in terms of difficulty and player engagement, and there isn't a large variety of enemy types, but once you get to the upper waves (40 and above) or play the challenges I think the appeal is more apparent. For most players I hope the upgrades help keep them playing until they get a feel for the flow of the game. Thanks either way for the honest feedback. |

This is the first game in a while to actually grab my interest from the video. When I get an itunes card I'll be sure to get this along with other releases I've been meaning to get.

I think Gabrien often has a salient point but, man, is he not big on tact.
![]() I think it is safe to assume the baddies here will be at least similar to what has been seen in Fireball SE, i.e. a bunch of abstract blobbies, but in keeping them relatively simple the dev can give us buckets of them on screen at the same time without crazy system requirements. |

I only own two dual stick shooters, Alien Space (got it free) and Infinity Field and this adds all the RadianGames stuff, as seen on one of the best iOS games ever IMO, Super Crossfire (please add an endless mode, I know is not that easy on that type of games, but please) that's worth the purchase alone.
Gameplay-wise this is as if that ship got lost and ended up on an overcrowded space surrounded by organisms that want to absorb it (my own imagination)... but then again here is where RadianGames ingredients kicks in, adding a ton of strategy and feeling like Super Crossfire. Loving the different abilities you can get. Definitely staying on my iDevice for a long time I dont know why enemies are worse than RadianGames debut iOS game, but its that way and at least they have different colors and patternsI might even reconsider buying Fireball SE just to support this developer from the sheer quality that their products offered me so far (again, Super Crossfire is the best in its genre and one of the best on iOS, check it out if you haven't, Super Crossfire gets my full recommendation. As for Ballistic SE, its being quite enjoyable and great) |
