The visuals are nice, and the music as well. of course lots need to be unlocked, as it seems not just modes, but even shapes get unlocked as you progress. not necessarily a bad thing, just would have liked it if it was possible to unlock the additional colours as well. no issue with that since it's only visuals but still would have been nice.

Is it just me or is there no clear indication about what score you need to get in the 2 minute mode to unlock the others?

an endless mode would be nice as well. just keep playing to beat a high score. no time limits, no single polymer to build.
Just you!

No, I admit it might not be clear but at the end of the run, underneath the picture of your biggest polymer, is a progress bar that you can tap on to see what's next to unlock.

You can go to the IAP store to unlock all or any combination of modes, pieces, and themes you want OR grind along in each of the game's unlocked modes to unlock whatever the game determines is your next reward. Each game mode works toward unlocking a different item. A cool system if you're patient but maybe a bit annoying if the next thing to be unlocked is not something you're interested in (like in my current run, any games I play of the 2 min game will be working toward unlocking a Black and White theme although I'd much rather open new game modes and pieces).

Though I usually don't buy games with lots of IAP (goes free soooo fast), I bought this too for support for the universal version.
I just wish that the cosmetics can be unlocked within the game too, even it is extremely super difficult.

True, I'd think there's no point not to allow one to slowly unlock them at a 1,000,000 points a piece, and, like the other unlocks, you'll have no choice on the order.

yeah i saw that next shape thing. i was wondering about modes.

clicking on the locked modes in the main screen/store didn't tell me the requirements, just that it could be unlocked in the 2 minute modes or could be bought.

edit: ok just read your post again and i figured it out. [finally ]

you have no choice on unlocking things, it's upto the game to give you the next item to unlock

which is a pretty poor way to implement unlocks i think.

Yes and no. It's kind of annoying but more than fair when you consider they need to have SOME push toward IAP. If you want it all or a certain item RIGHT NOW, then pay up, otherwise you'll need to patiently wait for it to come out.

I'm going to cough up the $2.99. I'm just too short attention spanned to grind all of the way through to all of the game modes and pieces AND, assuming a universal update is in the works, really wouldn't want to have to grind from start on a second device.

Curious. I'm sure it must be one of those weird GC hiccups but somehow I have a single best polymer score which is better than both my best 2 minute and one polymer scores. How is that possible as it could have only been earned in one of those two modes?

Thumbs up

Finally got a chance to sit down with this one and it's as good as I hoped, like Chuzzle meets Orba.

Dev should seriously consider mimicking Magnetic Blueprint Billiards' Skeleton Key with their $2.99 IAP - i.e. change it to "unlock all content immediately, including new game modes and themes - price will go up as more content is added"

It's a little late now, but I probably would have done themes in packs of two or three for a buck, I bet more people would have gone for them (or the big IAP) seeing that.

Default Game Impressions

How does the polymer scoring work anyways? I mean with the new unlocked pieces we see a point value but I have no clue what the original pieces are worth nor how the score for a given polymer is really derived.

Polymer is my new best puzzle game! Really really like the mechanics! Gratz to the developer!

Can anyone explain to me what unblocks the $2.99 IAP?

Color me confused, do you mean what comes with the $2.99 IAP? EVERYTHING (2 game modes, 3 additional piece types, and all tile themes)!
