There must be some sort of multiplyer or bonus as you make larger polymers ("Bigger polymers are worth much more") as the first one you pop in the tutorial gives you 10 points, but is composed of (1+5+1) pieces.

For kicks, here's the tutorial:

(1+5+1) = 10
(1+10+1) = 18
(1+5+10+5+1) = 44
(10+10+10+10) = 69
(1+1) = 2
(10+10+50+50+10+10)= 323
(1+50+1+5+1) = 116
(1+10+10+5+50+1+10+5+5+1) = 396
(1+5+5+1) = 20
(1+10+5+10+10+10+5+5+10+5+5+10+1) = 535

Also, there's chains for completing multiple polymers w/out sliding, not sure if you get that in the tutorial or not.

A help screen detailing the points breakdown would be most welcome!

I'm not sure how is the mathematical formula for each polymer.
Here are some combinations from 2 until 7 chain (with first 3 polymer shapes):

yeah, but i would consider the unlock for new modes the 'push' for IAP, no need to have another.but I dont really have a problem with it developers gotta make money fair enough.

it's just a little confusing at the beginning when you go to new modes and it just says "play 2 minute mode or buy an unlock"... how much are you supposed to play??

I'm going to cough up the $2.99. I'm just too short attention spanned to grind all of the way through to all of the game modes and pieces AND, assuming a universal update is in the works, really wouldn't want to have to grind from start on a second device.

i think i'm might do the same...this game is fantastic, and i'm getting impatient with the colours and modes.

Oh, I missed that in the tutorial when they mentioned the first two pieces base points, but, as you've shown, that still doesn't explain it all. It isn't even using the classic word game formula of combining the value of the tiles and then multiplying that result by the number of tiles used.

Just wanted to let you know how scoring works. Here's the formula:

((piece scores added together) x 1.15 ^ (amount of pieces)) x (combo multiplier)

The game just got an universal update but now crashes back to desktop as it initially loads on both my iPod Touch 4G and iPad 1G.

I updated Polymer the other day
I just opened it now and it crashed
I cleared my tool bar of apps and opened the game again and it's working fine
Played a little of every game to make sure and it's running fine
I'm using a iTouch 4th gen 64g device
Hope you can get it working!!

Okay, persistence seems to work. After crashing I just brought it up from the tool bar again and this time it worked.
