I checked, all 105 gears got 12 durability, so it must have been the chaoa scroll, enhancing wout durability, but what sucks if u fail, all gone n no dura to enhance anymore.

Any1 else have issue with using skillbooks.

My mercs are all 105 w maxed skills, but still cant use the books....zzzz

They have different skill caps, since you can obly use books on skills thats lvl 4 (normal) and lvl 3 (last skills). Some have only max lvl 2, its written on the skill descruption, the level cap of skills.

Chaos scrolls can enhance equipment even if durability is already 0. However there is a chance of it failing and resetting DEF or ATK of equipment back to its base (i.e. before any enhancement ever took place) whist durability remains 0. This basically means that the equipment is useless and you'll need to farm for another one

You've misunderstood.

Books can only be used if the skill has already been maxed. A skill might max out at lvl 2 for one of your mercs but it might max out at lvl 4 (same skill) for my merc. If that's the case then I'll be able to use a corresponding skillbook but you won't. It's all up to luck whether a skill reaches max lvl.

Only your main character will ever get to max out every skill
