App description: Description
The Ragnarök is approaching! Save the cosmic ash tree and prevent the evil forces from destroying Yggdrasil!

Yggdrasil is a co-operative game in which you play the rôle of a Norse god (Odin, Thor, Tyr...). The gods must join forces and co-ordinate their efforts to repel the invasion of their enemies in Asgard.
If Evil is defeated, the players win all together. If not, the defeat is collective and it heralds the end of mythical time.

Goal of the game
During the ultimate fight between the Gods and their Enemies, you have to face the relentless advance of the monsters on the cosmic tree.
You will have no respite from the challenge for, each round, a monster will move forward and will frustrate your cleverly hatched plans. You will have to fight the big wolf Fenrir, the goddess of the dead Hel, Loki the traitor or the awful giants. For that purpose, you will need the help of the dwarves who supply you with artifacts, elves who support you in combat, the vanir with whom you must negotiate. The obtaining of the viking souls in Midgard and the management of their number will be decisive. Nine worlds will be at your disposal to get the key that will allows you to postpone the end of time. Link your actions together strategically and you will be able to bring Nidhögg the snake feeding on the root of the tree, Surt the flame demon or Jörmungand the gigantic water snake down.
Do not forget the magic of the runes and your divine powers, the last-dish key to your victory.
The application will offer you to choose the difficulty level of your game. According to your progress, you will unblock 3 new gods (Frigg, Vidar and Balder) and new special cards.
Will you be able to prevent the destruction of the worlds from happening?

This is a great game - you all can find out a ton of info from BoardGameGeek (BGG) including reviews of the physical boardgame here: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/71671/yggdrasil

This is a cooperative board game with a Norse theme. It can be very difficult, and has been compared to Ghost Stories (another great co-op boardgame that is available on iPad).

I can leave impressions later.

I'm still trying to figure out if it has online mp or not ?

The app description does not say, the BGG News plug mentioned online, there is Game Center apparently, but the dev website only mentions pass n play....

so I'm entirely unsure....but asking everyone I can

Any first impressions? Sanuku?

I saw a few videos of this a while back and it looked very clunky, but I'm always interested in good coop games.

No online multiplayer.

The dev responded on FB
Quote:
Sorry, there is no online multiplayer mode, but you can play with several friends on the same Ipad. ;-) Hoe you will enjoy thus!
And looks like there is some type of tutorial, going by the screenshots.

I posted a link back here on Ludonaute's FB page asking them to come join in.

Hi!

I am the publisher of Yggdrasil. I beg your pardon in advance for my poor English.

Here are some answers:
- there is no online mode for the application; we considered that it is not the best way to play such an application of a co-operative game.
- Of course we included a tutorial in the app
- Sorry, the app is not retina-enabled; we are thinking now about it (but we were so excited to release Yggdrasil for Ipad as soon as possible ). The issue is to combine retina with the size of the app...

I hope that you would enjoy the game.
Cheers!

We very much appreciate the information.

I would bet that the group here can provide some very useful feedback in regards to the game and I hope we get to hear more from you in the future.
