I have been going through a lot of touch arcade threads and realise that people bitch about everything and they can NEVER be satisfied.

I have the new iPad and downloaded NOVA 3. I toggled the switch to lower resolution for "increased visual effects" just to see what all the fuss was about.

Looks bloody crap compared to the retina option. Are people so vain and naive that they'd rather see smoke coming out of their gun instead of the better resolution? Why the hell do you even want or need to see smoke coming out of your gun? Um who cares? Same sitch with galaxy on fire 2.

Objectively speaking, NOVA 3 looks so much better without all the extra texture and effect bullsh*t. That is a fact. The graphics are incredible as is. But everyone had to bitch about it lacking the extra effects.
I for one think that Gameloft did an amazing job with the initial release of NOVA 3 and I honestly think they have excellent customer service to listen to all this bitching and "fixing" the apparently "lacking graphics".
The retina graphics are incredible on the iPad and it certainly doesn't matter if I don't see smoke coming out of my weapons. It's better if smoke doesn't come out anyway. Better for our environment.

P.S. Anyone that thinks that Nova looks better on the iPad 2.... perhaps get an eye test? Or maybe iPad 2 owners just have an inferiority complex.

Or maybe you could comprehend that beauty is subjective and not objective? So what might look good to you, might look terrible to someone else, and vice versa. There is a reason they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I know it's probably soul crushing to realize that the world doesn't revolve around you and that other people can have equally valid opinions that differ from yours, so I tried to break it to you gently. I suggest you take some time to digest the above concepts, and maybe life will be easier for ya bro.

My personal opinion is the ipad3 is a rushed product, that doesn't have the horsepower to push that display. Hence, you need to turn down effects or lower the resolution. I'll wait to upgrade when they have the power to push the display correctly, but enjoy your iPad it is a very nice product otherwise, just not my cup of tea yet.

Lol. Dude, it's the antialiasing, not the resolution bump that makes the difference.

I bought MC3 a while ago, and just finished it. Only a few of the levels have replay value, and I don't play the multiplayer that much. I was wondering, should I delete mc3 for nova 3? Or is this game not worth it? (I did really enjoy mc3 but most of the levels were frustrating and it felt like a chore to finish it. I did get a rank I think in the double digits in multiplayer though)

higher resolution coupled with shader effects makes a game look great there is a balance between the two which is achieved by optimisation testing and trials. As far as customer service is concerned it's terrible the reason why did improve on these effects was because they had no other choice, leaving it as it is would have caused a serious dent to their already dodgy reputation.I'am not a gl hater but i do think they need to start updating and optimising their games there are many upcoming devs. on ios and soon they will be outrun by competition if they don't focus on optimising their games and pay attention to their older releases.

P.S- can anyone confirm if the framerate has improved on ipod touch after the latest update.

Maybe it didn't sell as well as I originally thought.

Anyway IMO if you don't have it already pick up nova 3, but do yourself a favor and stay away from Gangstar. It's a pathetic piece of crap compared to the real thing.

Hey guys I saw an earlier reply that said the game takes up 1.9GB installed. I currently have 2.6GB free on my Ipad 3rd gen and it won't install yet.

How much room do I have to carve out just to buy this game? If I need to go over 3 I probably won't bother.
