With the style of classic platform games like Super Mario Bros, Kirby and Donkey Kong Country. It is easy to pick up and play in the beginning, but gets insanely hard as you progress. If you are a casual gamer, there is a lot of fun in the first levels. But if you are a hard core gamer and already suffered playing games like Battle Toads, Ninja Gaiden, Castlevania, Ghosts N Goblins and Contra then you have just found a new challenge.

You control a toad that can jump and use his super tongue to move forward. You will need to overcome acid cans, spikes, trash pipes, fans, cannon balls and a lot more.

Controls may not seen intuitive in the beginning, but as soon as you get through the first levels you will be in full control. Tap the frog to jump. Tap the light bulbs and hooks to throw the Toad's tongue and, once hooked, tap the screen to release. You can also swing the toad when he is hooked. Just touch him and swing your fingers to the left or right.

thoughts on the game

Okay so I wanted to give you some real feedback because I know what it's like to release something and people not really give good feedback. In their defense maybe they are trying to sell their own products or whatever but here is what I think.

The game sort of nails the superficial design ideals of app store hits. I can tell you guys were interested in going for that and I think that's great to try. The sort of kyle gabbler methodology of letting physics dictate your animation and movement scales well in these multi-level puzzel games. Good choice.

One of my problems with how it plays is how constrained i felt when the toad actually latched on to something. What I wanted to do, was not swing back and forth to release myself, but to stretch him back and slingshot myself forward. As it is now, it sort of takes away some of the fun and expected fluidity in the game. This change would give the player more choice in how to approach each level and would also create vastly different puzzle solutions and gameplay experiences per person.

Overall I think your intuition for design was very good and that you should feel pretty good about it but based on the design and iap something tells me that good feelings won't suffice.
