The Underground Aryan City is a proper noun.
Some scientists believe that a German base still remains in the Antarctic. Moreover, it is even said that there is an underground Aryan city called New Berlin.
We all hate the Nazi's atrocities. So at the end of our game plot, the heros destroyed the underground Aryan city.

Those websites appear to be some pretty heavy duty conspiracy theorist sites. Just because somebody posted their interpretation of supposed scientific data on a website and said it was aliens does not make the information presented "factual". That would be like saying that the Will Smith movie Independence Day is based on facts because consipracy theorists have evidence of an alien landing in Area 51 and Roswell, NM.

Look, I understand the source for your story. My point is that the subject matter could be offensive. If your defense is that you kill the Nazis in the end, then maybe you haven't offended Americans, but maybe now you've offended Germans. This is just the sort of material that is rife with controversy...which maybe is your goal all along.

Edit: I realize that you've apologized, so I'm not trying to pile on here, but your game is still out there and has the potential to offend. Ultimately, it's your game and your story. You have to be able to support it, even if you choose to do so at the risk of alienating customers (no pun intended).

Isn't this a little extreme? I mean, the grand-daddy of 1st person shooters, Wolfenstein, is a game where you go around shooting Nazi's. There are a plethora of wargames on the app-store where the campaigns are from the Allies' perspective. Hollywood churns out such movies constantly - check out the Indiana Jones movies where the Nazis are the bad guys... Tarantino's recent 'Inglorious Basterds'... countless more examples. Oh and let's not forget the 'Call of Duty' games - you don't play the 'bad guys' very often in those, do you. No one complains that Al-Qaeda might be offended if a game involves shooting them...

I think we need to just relax a little regarding these kinds of things when we play games - bad guys are a good thing!

The context in which 'Aryan' was used in the title of this game was actually an innocent usage based on what the developer found out about his subject matter - and it clearly isn't intended to be offensive or to be supporting any kind of nazi ideology...

Jamie.

Good post Jamie. This needed to be said. Now can anyone say whether or not this is a game worth picking up based on their experience playing it?

I agree. Wolfenstein came to mind for me also. And numerous other games, books and films.
VisualPark, the name of your game is fine, as is the subject matter. Maybe it wouldn't sell in Germany or Israel but elsewhere games/books/films featuring Nazis are commonplace.

As HLW pointed out, I was remiss in not reading the entire description before commenting. Although it's still a bit jarring to see the word Aryan used here, I was indeed incorrect in assuming that it was being misapplied.

The Third Reich has had a long and distinguished afterlife in movies, books, and games. I don't see anything wrong with a Nazi-themed game, provided that the Nazis aren't treated sympathetically. Truth be told, I actually think "Hitler's lost Antarctic base" is a terrific setting for a game.
