As the criminal it pays to know where all the other detectives are so I would watch most of the game fully zoomed out. Unfortunately the beautiful city scape quickly turns to a busy mess where it's extremely difficult to keep a visual on all the pieces.

If you, by any chance, have the opportunity to have a look at the old Nintendo version of Scotland Yard, you'll see a great little overview map on the upper screen at any time with a white rectangle marking the section of the city map where you are at the moment on the lower touch(playing) screen. This and the clear color design of the 2D city map makes planning your escape route (or vice versa, your 'fishing net') really easy. I have to say, I prefer that one, despite all the neon glitz of the iPad.

Has anyone gotten the online multiplayer to work yet?

Played a few games with my friend online earlier. Worked well apart from the fact that in one game his app crashed. No resuming/async unfortunately.

Yes. You can choose any number of opponents. Solo play, 2 - 5 human players or AI. you control the number of AI, so if you want to chase a human Mr X and have you on a team of computer AI, you can. If you want a 1 on 1, you can. 1 on 2, 1 on 3, etc. multiple level of difficulties, great deal for a fiver.
