Very fun little retro bullet-hell shooter. Shows you can still do a lot and make a fun game without 200+ MB of space.
Good job! |

Had one quick go and the game is pretty fun. I love the feel of the game (feels to me like the the older school vibe to me). The controls feels a little laggy and I can't tell if the whole ship is the hitbox or just a pixel (I'm guessing it's the whole ship since you have a lifebar?). Looking forward to spending more time with the game to see how the later stages are like. I like the pacing of the bullets so far. The parallax effect I'm not exactly loving, but it brings something different. |

Very smooth shooter. I'm not usually very adept at this type of game, but have enjoyed my time with it. I am curious when and what platform the game was originally released on where it garnered its awards. The intro, besides the shots of real jest, remind me of C64 demo days, but the graphics themselves are much more advanced. The graphics look pretty good, with different scenery and an on-rails type of movement through the levels so you aren't always flying straight ahead.
The game controls very well with the touch controls I used. It takes some trial and error to figure the game out without much in the way of directions, but after a play through or two you get the hang of it. One thing that wasn't clear was the power-up system. I had what I thought were some good weapons, but then I upgraded and it seemed worse. At least the shots/spread looked weaker. Plenty of bullets flying on the screen. With some of the bosses I wonder if it is even possible to dodge the massive spreads that shoot out, or if part of being a true master of this type of game is figuring out when to take a hit and steer into the weakest projectiles. The replay feature, where you can record your gameplay is a nice touch. There are no doubt better shooters available on iOS, but I am sure there are much worse. For someone that is a novice, I found it a bit unclear and a rather unforgiving re-introduction to the genre. |

The game is nice overall, though I haven't had as much chance to play it yet as I would like. It's a shame about the IAPs because I think they turn a lot of people away. I haven't gotten into it enough yet to determine if they are consumable or how they affect the validity of the leaderboard. I find the controls pretty smooth, above average, but the way the ship seems to twitch during anything but very fast lateral movement is a bit annoying. Anyway, I'll be getting further into it when I have a chance, and I would definitely recommend this to shmup fans at its current, very reasonable price (or free if any of those codes are still unused ). I would love to see it go universal, but I think since the graphics are from an older generation, they probably wouldn't look great scaled up, so I suppose that isn't likely.
