Loading sega CD save states in genesis4iphone

Every time I try to load a saved state from a sega CD rom inside is genesis4iphone it just crashes. I presume this is because ou need to have the sega cd bios environment running to load a game. if anyone has an idea or solution to my problem it would be greatly appreciated. Saving inside the game doesn't work either. When I go to load my save it just restarts me from the beginning. It makes playIng RPGs impossible. The game I'm trying to play is Shining Force CD FYI.
