So true!
I bought iPad 1, 2 & 3 too.
It took a good long while before we reached the stage of most games being universal, let alone iPad only releases.

This game is awesome!
Played it back in the day on my pc, and it's great to play it again on my iPad.

Controls are excellent on the touchscreen.

Graphics are great, gameplay insanely addictive!

Great job Devs.

I'd say buy them both.

Although both are dual stick shooters, they're pretty different in both feel and execution.

While Mutant Storm is more hectic and frantic in the gameplay, Inferno+ is more exploration, RPG'ish in execution...

They are both excellent games.

Have to give Mutant Storm the edge, though, if you really only want to buy one or the other...
It's been a pretty big success on both pc, Xbox and xbox 360.. Don't know about Playstation..

The only reason that Mutant Storm happened was because Space Tripper was a complete flop... All that hard work on Pompoms 3D engine to make it go fast would of been a waste. So it made sense to use that knowledge towards Mutant Storm.

As for Empire let's see how this one fairs. But you never know, never say never

Just downloaded it this morning and put about 20 minutes into tally mode so far. It plays just as smoothly as the original versions. Yay!

The controls are pretty damn nice for touch-screen dual-stick controls, but after playing with Space Tripper's tilt controls, I can't help but feel like that might be a better way to do it. Maybe do tilt control for movement, press and hold the left side of the screen to fire, and flick the right side of the screen left or right (like a spinner) to rotate the firing direction. Put a tiny cursor around the edge of the ship to indicate the aiming direction while not actively firing. Give the virtual spinner some inertia, with the ability to touch the screen again to stop it immediately, and it would probably work pretty well. You'd only need to have your thumbs along the far bottom edge of the screen, so it would be ideal for an iPhone adaptation.

Just food for thought. Maybe that would tighten up the controls enough to put the original brown and black belt difficulties back in as 2nd Dan and 3rd Dan black belts.

Fantastic game. I'm really enjoying it so far. I would love an option for stationary sticks though.

Both is the correct answer. They aren't vastly different but they are significantly different, and tough to compare overall. This is much more similar to Ballistic than Inferno.

I'm glad you like it so far

Stationary sticks with overlays can be added in the next update.

As for the tilt option it sounds a nice idea in practice but unfortunately it does not work - I tried something similar very early on in the dev cycle and it felt completely alien and wrong to use. But it's nice that you were trying to help

That's rather surprising, considering how well it worked with Space Tripper. I'd still like to see the original difficulty levels added back in beyond black belt, with all the original brutality.

And, of course, an iPad version of Empires!

The problem with tilt is it works great on a small device but when you get something as big as the iPad it becomes cumbersome. Also, the other problem is lag - Mutant Storm is using more cpu cycles than Space Tripper and the OS does not have much time to process things in the background like accelerometer inputs - especially the iPad1.

But you have to agree that the touch controls are one of the best so far for these types of games?

As for Empire that is up to Pompom to decide. But as I said before you never know
