Hello everyone,

We did recently announce a statement regarding the resolution issue and we'd recommend reading the thread at our official forum.

Best regards,

The FISHLABS Team

Sorry, why should people post on your forum? You could also post your statement here and you could answer any questions here!

We at TA are probably spoiled with many indie developers making the forum here a base for connecting with their customers/fans.

But Fishlabs is a relatively popular company with a large fanbase that has been around for 8 years. There shouldn't be any reason for them to hunt down stray threads on different ios forums to address issues when all queries/complaints can be consolidated on their own forum.

Well ... and I am not interested in having many Forum accounts ...

And, if they care about their customers they have to give 'support' on that place where their customers are ...

And ... without this forum and the TA site ... I am sure they would have many sales less than they now have!

For me, after the last update, I deleted the game ... for two reasons: The resolution is worse and the file size on my iPad 3 is more than 1.2 GB ... that is way too much!

Well their you go. With one action Fishlabs prove just what kind of company they are.

In answer to your above comment Fishlabs have now CLOSED the thread on their Forums !!!

http://forum.fishlabs.net/viewtopic....=3003&start=20

They just want you to look at their canned statement saying sorry but some players had performance issues !

No reason given for why they removed the resolution switch which was a fix that made everyone happy.

Ive also deleted the game. No point in taking up the space without Retina.

I'll be watching how this company does from now now with interest ....

Hello Mythbuster,

You can be sure that we are supporting our dedicated fans and gamers as good as possible and we are always listening to them. In additon, we recommend checking out our channels as well for any important information or customer support.

Anyway, we did attach a quote of the current statement:

Quote:
Hello everyone,

With patch 1.0.8 for Galaxy on Fire 2 HD the resolution has been slightly adjusted to a value of 1440x1080, since we could verify a couple of graphical performance issues with the new iPad.

We are aware that this decision is sad news for some players, but not all users of Galaxy on Fire 2 HD had some trouble with this phenomenon.

However, it is important for us that all players can benefit from a smooth running game as well on the new iPad. Therefore, we decided to use this solution, since we have received some messages from other players regarding to the performance of the new iPad.

Of course, we will consider on further actions to improve the performance of the game on any device in the future and we'd like to ask you to be patient regarding this topic.

Furthermore, we'd like to inform you about the current size of the Galaxy on Fire 2 HD installation. As some players have already noticed, you currently have to download almost 660 MB of data from the App Store. This amount of files is based on different textures, we have added for the different devices, so that every player can benefit from the best graphic experience so far.

Hopefully, we could enlighten the current situation with this post and give you an overview on the current development after the patch.

In addition, we'd like to thank you for your great support and hope you will continued being a part of our community.

Best regards,

The FISHLABS Team

After playing the game for a few hours last night, I am delighted with the update. The game now runs smoothly at a solid framerate on the new iPad and looks great. I have clocked up over 80 hours of gameplay and I'm very familiar with the performance/visuals across the various versions, and this is the best one yet. I'll take solid smooth performance over resolution every time when it comes to the new iPad, and the devs have done a fine job.

It's looking like you are in a minority then .... Is it possible to setup a poll on these forums ?

Not awful. Needs antialiasing badly though. Not sure I think texture perfection is worth the gargantuan file size.
