Fantastic app, even better if you're jailbroken. I managed to find a few lines of code which you can add to the info.plist to enable push notifications (by setting the app to idle in the background using VoIP channels, like the devs originally wanted to do); I haven't used the stock mail app since the week this app launched.

There's a Sparrow+ tweak but it's outdated now. |

Just add the highlighted lines to your sparrow.app/info.plist file in the correct place and reboot. It does cause a slight hit to your battery life, but not noticeably worse to having push notifications enabled in the stock mail app. |

That was an instabuy the moment it was released on iOS, being a desktop Mac OS Sparrow user for some time. I don't care for push because I have 5 mail accounts so I prefer to check them manually, but that may be a turnoff for some.
Any plans for iPad/universal? I miss Sparrow when I"m checking mail on my iPad. |

Thanks for the heads up on the sale for this! Instabuy for sure! Sparrow + in Cydia seems to work with push and banners even in the newest version of Sparrow (1.21 I think) for me.
Cheers! It would seem they updated it to 1.3 yesterday. Darn. Last edited by LearnIIBurn; 06-19-2012 at 05:52 PM.. Reason: Wrong Version |

There are two Sparrow tweaks in Cydia that I recommend, one enables push and the other allows Sparrow to be your default mail client in iOS. This includes mailto links from other apps.
