From Pepin after crafting him a Black Lotus I think it's called.

This reminds me a bit of the Astro Ranch debacle. Not on the same scale (turning a paid game into a freemium game where you have pay even more to continue playing) but with an equal annoyance by adding constant ads.
I guess we're never going to have a decent Animal Crossing clone

I don't like the ads either, and yes, I have availed of some IAP. However, since we seem to all agree that this is a promising game, can we give the devs a chance to adjust and tweak the game?
As someone mentioned, the ads have been in place for less than a day, so let's wait if they'll moderate it or not. They probably didn't anticipate how laggy/crash-prone the game would be with the added ads. As for the game getting tedious, I think the dev already mentioned that they put a level cap for the initial release so the player levels don't have too big of a gap. I think it was also mentioned that they have new content planned along with raising the level cap, but I'm not sure when that's gonna come out. In fairness to the devs they have been trying to keep up with their users' requests: actively responding to our posts, raising flooz from friends back to 3, fixing bugs etc. TL;DR: let's give devs more time before bailing out.

By the way, checking the Twitter account you see that they received good reviews already, so sneakying ads now is really fishy. Last edited by ednan; 08-06-2012 at 08:39 AM.. |

Hm, just restarted my game right now, and I don't get ads anymore. Not sure if it's real or just wishful thinking though. ;P
Maybe they updated it already? |

Just force closed and restarted, nope, the ads are still there and dear god are they annoying. Even on an iPad 2 which is decently zippy, they lag the game and force you to deal with them.
I did not pay for an iap simply to have adverts rammed down my throat, and moves like this are good inspiration for the concept of an organised site that downvotes shady stuff. |

I'm not deleting the game yet only because I spent a fair amount of money on it, but when one puts ads after getting good reviews, I think one has questionable ethics. |
