Yeah mate, you can finish all campaigns completely without iap. You can also redo any mission for extra gold, that's what I did but I didn't need to. Each mission gives you access to enough mines to get gold for that mission. So for eg. you could replay mission three 10 times getting 600gold each time, then you'd have 6000gold before you tackled mission four as all gold adds up and carries over for the entire campaign. Thanks for the reply, that's great to hear. Also curious about skirmish mode, how many levels are there and how does gold work (like are you given a set amount at the begining of the level)?

Skirmish levels give you an introductory gold amount on start (200 for the first level, for example). Additionally there are mines in each level (in the first level an additional 200 is accessible via mines).

My biggest problem with Battles and Castles is that you can't save mid-level. B&C has multitasking but the levels are expansive enough saving within a game would be good. I e-mailed the developers who say this will be in the next update.

Update out expanding skirmism mode with free play mode (5,000 gold) and save/load syst implemented. Battles & Castles deserves your consideration, especially now.

I was going to post the same thing, the android version has had this update for a week (with the saving) and I'm glad it finally hit IOS.

Price dropped to $1.99 today.

Also, noted the android version was updated with a new playable faction "the Evil Clan" (in skirmish mode), last week, so I'm assuming that is hitting the IOS version soon.
