Turns out Dead Trigger going F2P on iOS is also due to piracy. Surprise, surprise...

Hodapp called this and was right since day one. No one should be attacking that guy for being right. Hodapp knows his shit.

Madfinger are terrible liars. Its sad at how pathetic they are with this lame marketing ploy.

I don't think you can say that the savegame syncing in Dead Trigger is iCloud syncing when you have to sign up in-app for an external service to use it.

Those issues are now dead and buried. There really is nothing more than what has already been said that can be said. Therefore it's pointless at this stage. Last edited by Rip73; 08-02-2012 at 01:02 PM.. |

One of my favourite iOS games of all time, Meteor Blitz, had a great counter-piracy method where it made the game (if pirated), become essentially a lite version. And guess what? They didn't make it free nor make a fuss about it.
But to make my post actually relevant: I tried out the update, and arena simply does not seem as good as COD: Zombies (either version). In those games, the controls worked for me, the whole level layout, weapons etc were varied and different and it simply seems more intuitive and more of a console experience. Let's see if Madfinger will go all out and support this game for the next few months and hopefully it can become a game worth keeping on my iPhone. |

I do like that anti piracy thing Meteor Blitz has. Heard a little bit about it before but obviously had no experience of it. It seems like a very clever solution. I'm curious how they implemented it, whether it's on the software or on a server side. All apps send some amount of data back so a server set up would be more secure than something in the software that could be bypassed. It is a very clever solution either way.
