The Runes Guild - old style 3D hack&slash -Available soon

Hello guys,

We are just finishing our first game for the iOS (ipad and iphone) called "The Runes Guild - The Beginning"

A hack and slash old style game we hope you will enjoy.

Looks nice. Is there no such option as swipe to rotate the camera? Will there be any range weapons, spells etc.? On which devices will it work?

Thanks for your reply!

There is no option to do a "free rotate" with the camera, there is however an inplay button that gives you 4 different camera angles: two of them close to the character for a first person view, and 2 other for a 3rd person view (with a top far view).

There are 4 different weapons that appear across the game, with different effects and strength, you won't be able to finish the game without finding these.

This version won't have spells, you can pick magic stones that some of your opponents will drop when they die, that will allow you to recover some HP.

The game is being tested on several android devices and will run on all android versions above 2.2, with a graphics card that suports opengl 2.0+.

Also a specific version for Tegra is expected to be released after the major release of the game.

After the android release, we will submit a iOS version to Apple that will also work on iPad 2+ and iphone 4S+ (actually some videos were recorded while playing on a iphone 4S and some others on a Galaxy S II).

So is this gonna have multiplayer or is it just single player? And how much will this cost?

For now it will be single player only, but after releasing single player on all major platforms, a multiplayer scenario is the next step, probably a capture the flag game mode.

We are going to release it for a promotional price of 0.99$.

No camera rotate?... Hm... And only for iPhone 4s+? I've seen way better games running on worse devices. The gameplay doesent look good (yet?) so I hope there will be a decent story and good quests at least. I hope you'll be able to pickup or buy better weapons, armor (btw will there be IAP's?) and I also hope for a leveling system. The animations are good, but the running animations look a bit weird because they don't match with the running speed. I'm a huge 3D RPG fan, but idk if I'll pickup this one.

More people own the iPhone 4 as opposed to the 4S. Talk about alienating a huge portion of a potential customer base. Not too business savvy.

Thanks for the tips.

I'm also a developer for The Runes Guild, we would like to have a version that works in iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, and we probably will, but now, we will only support 4S and iPad 2.

In order to release a version for 3GS and 4 we will have to make a version without dynamic lights, projected textures, High specular shaders, Transparent Water shaders, antialias, etc ... on hundreds of objects houses, ruins, plants, stones, npc, npc weapons, npc clothes, etc ...

So we will take a bit longer to release that version.

Regarding the camera free movement, we will look deeper into that.

As recommended animations vs movement speed is now corrected in all the scenes. There are 3 animations walk, run and sprint.
