I just started playing Goblins a couple of days ago and in a game tonight, I found a bug that I reported to Playdek with documentation.
I'll go into detail if necessary, once I hear from Playdek. It's been resolved. Don't sweat it. If you use Goblin's Mook, a +1 is added to your dice roll but only the unmodified result is shown. So, if you're showing a 2, it will be a hit. I'm awful when it comes to this faction. Last edited by amn624; 08-06-2012 at 08:51 PM.. |

The result of each game is highly dependent upon
1) the match up 2) your draw 3) your opponent's draw 4) your dice 5) your opponent's dice Yes, there is a lot of skill involved. But the skill of deck building is countered to some degree by the matchup. The stats offer some proof that some factions are better than others (of course, the meta game has already changed a bit and may change significantly when additional factions are released). The skill of superior hand management is countered to some degree by the draw. The skill of superior positional play is countered to some degree by the dice. 75% might be reasonable (without a statistical study, it's always just a guess). 90% is far too high. Chess is 100% skill. No way SW skill is that close to Chess. |

Just attacked with Baldar and 7-dice. Rolled a 1-1-2-2-2-2-6. Normal expectation is four or five hits. 90% skill? Yeah. Right.
Skarsnik, you lucky dog. |

Yeah of course it's 90% skill, you're winning despite of that crappy roll!

Visual comparison of zebracadabra's and then celeric's rolls. This was maybe two-three moves later for crying out loud. He had a reasonable expectation of rolling 4 hits, which my Champion could have survived by curing one wound with a magic point. Unfortunately, I have zero percent skill at rolling dice. Incredibly, it's the same for Celeric. |

In my other game with karajohn17, I rolled ones/twos for 2 turns in a roll. Can't even clear my initial bunch of commons - luckily Kara is playing cloaks and they don't have mana drain right? |

As for the dice, it's a dice rolling game and there's no getting around that. And that can be very annoying and disappointing at times because the rest of the game is so well designed. There are unique and fun abilities that have absolutely nothing to do with dice. Whenever I run into a string of bad rolls I just step away from the game for a while because if I don't, most likely I'll just stop enjoying the game completely. Of course, there are also games and entire runs where the dice swing your way, at which point you should thank your lucky stars and admit the good rolls to your opponent. |

Oh and by the way, toss in a mess of 2s as well. No way I got more than 40% hits. Worse yet, many of the hits were meaningless, like double hits vs. one health, while a 4 power dude like Elut would score once against a 2 health. Utterly, utterly depressing, but that's the way it is when you roll dice. |
