The learning curve for a few factions is a little steep, and yes Guild Dwarves and Phoenix Elves are easier to win with than the rest, but an experienced player can beat those factions. The easiest way to avoid playing against the same factions over and over is to play against people you can talk with at a forum or in chat, that way you can straightaway say that overusing those two factions isn't on. The next set of factions dull the advantage that PE and GD have to an extent, but GD still remains one of the toughest factions to beat.

PE and GD are also two of the most boring factions, with very straight and simple strategies.

I echoed what Neo said, I used Cloak as my first faction when started out... due to the pretty artwork.. but it was not that beginners friendly...

Jungle Elves is not too bad to start off either, big nasty creature with a little bit of trick events up their sleeves..

And, you've made the right move to get the everything bundle.. way to go

Hey! Glad to see you.

Neo is right. I learned Phoenix Elves first, then Tundra Orcs and then Guild Dwarves. I'm just now tackling the others. Cloaks are (for me) the hardest to learn and play effectively. One of the devs recommended learning them and Vanguard last.

Whenever you're up for a game, just send me an invite.

Just got killed by Ragnar Furying 4 times in a row. You just gotta sigh, shake your head, and move on.

That is a spectacle to see. Cant they make a replay recording of sorts so we can upload to youtube or something?

Would be easier to arbiter for tourneys and such, and people could discuss their tactics in public, and not just between the players themselves.

Welcome to the game scary! As the others me mentioned, the beginner friendly factions are PE, GD and TO. Play one or two of them until you get comfortable with the play mechanics then move on to the other factions like JE. If I were to rank the factions from easiest to hardest to become competent at it would be:
1. TO
2. GD
3. PE
4. JE
5. FK
6. VG
7. CG
8. CL

I agree, but I think there are some deceptively large drops in here. First off, the difference between TO and GD is a fairly large one. TO, you just summon and smash. The only difficult choices are when/who to Freeze. GD, especially with Reinforcements available, can be a bit tricky. Then, the jump from PE to JE is also very large IMO. PE you surgically strike everything and then unload with high-quality champs. JE play varies incredibly wildly, and you have a lot of tricky and clever actions that you have to be able to predict if you want to set them up. So many of the games where I win with JE, I just imagine my opponent saying to themselves, " Wait, I thought I was winning!". Love them, btw.
