ON SALE! Get it now!
Battle through 32 levels as an astronaut fighting aliens on a remote planet or be a Doom style marine up against the forces of Hellwith Gameception, it's all up to you!
Gameception allows you to download a number of different game versions following the familiar old-school first person shooter model and play them in one easy-to-maneuver place! It's a game within a game!
Based off the Doom Classic source code, Gameception lets you play hundreds of different mods (in the form of .WAD files) on your iOS device (must be PrBoom compatible!), with a variety of versions to choose from.
Gameception starts you off with "Freedoom" and allows you to download additional levels/games online. Just hit "Manage" in Gameception and you can easily download other levels and games. All you have to do is search the web (using Gameception), find a mod that you like, and download it! Once downloaded, simply tap the game to enable play.
If you already have such a .WAD file (like Doom or Doom II) on your computer, transfer it over with Dropbox or iTunes File Sharing.
Get Gameception today and let the first-person shooter fun begin!
I was browsing the App Store today and found another Doom engine game, Gameception. It comes with Freedoom like many other Doom engine games in the App Store, but this one accepts custom WAD files from iTunes sharing, Dropbox, and it has a built in web browser! I transferred my Doom 2 WAD over and lo and behold, Doom 2 on my iPhone.

Gameception rocks so hard. I like loading it up with custom WADs for "Total Conversions." You can make it into whole new games, like Aliens, or Goldeneye. So cool, it really doesn't matter that id software hasn't gotten around to releasing Doom 2 for iOS, even though they just re-released Doom Classic.
