Awesome update. Love love love Metal Slug. I'm not sure what iCloud support would add to this...

Your display settings are now saved! My only complaint is auto-fire is turned on by default. Is the filter enabled by default? If so it shouldn't be! I don't remember.

Buy this game people!!!

Well, I beat this game numerous times already and now I am going for a higher score. I would have to go slow as I would try to knife enemies and using bullets on boses ( no bombs/grenades) that way I generate more points. So this is where iCloud becomes useful. I don't have to play this only at home but I can play it on the go.
My other wish for this game is for the buttons to move/register wherever I tap my finger.

button config is not saved in the new update unfortunately... also, while the new window mode is awesome with activated filter, it looks awfully scaled without. how about an additional true unscaled window mode with 1:1pixel mapping? i know the window would be sonewhat small but it would look amazingly crisp i imagine great port & update otherwise, glad i spent the cash!

edit: oh yeah, the wallpaper in window mode is kinda ugly, how about some choice?

One thing iFBA does, which is nice, is that it allows the video to be scaled down so that your thumbs don't cover up the play field. I've noticed that the Appstore version of MS3 allows you to revert to 4:3 display in the settings menu. That will help some, but if the Dev includes a mode which reduces the size to basically the game's original resolution, you'll definitely recover a lot of space for your fingers and avoid covering up anything vital.

So glad I posted this screenshot when I did. Definitely loving the new update's window mode when I leave my icade mobile at home

It's 1:1 pixel-matched on the iPad 3 Retina when you disable the filter, in full screen and windowed. Never, ever use the filter for this game for any reason (or any sprite-based game.) The scanlines are fun, though.

Haha, that's kind of funny. Was reading this thread, and whenever I see you posting alot, it usually means it's a great game, and I will like it, so probably will buy it during this sale. Nowadays usually waiting a month on buying games to avoid the early adopter rear ends, which is working well for more peace of mind.

Don't worry about your friends, they all will be buying ipads soon, and you can call them Facebook Gamers to spite them. I know I don't miss having a console one bit. My last xbox just ended up being a fancy dusty paperweight, I love going anywhere with my ipad in my backpack. People always seem jealous.

Well off to youtube to see Sanuku and other videos of the game. Hopefully, I will be back here soon, if I like what I see.

How to port this game better...

I just picked this up on sale... And while it is fun I find dying and restarting to be a bit annoying.(I dunno if ur suppose to be good enough to not die?) but I think it would be cooler to have more health like make continues an option after you've lost a health bar or sumthing) also sucks there's no online multiplayer.. Would be cool to have 4p mp and have it play more like castle crashers or another kind of 2d side scroller. This game works on a real arcade because u know when u die u gotta insert more money, but like this they don't need to leave up the add player (I guess it's just a direct port)

I guess most people like it this way but I find it tough to play without some incentive, or maybe I just suck idunno...

I agree about online MP. It would make this game even fun.
If you're asking an unlimited life ups, then this game will be boring. You will finish it in an hour or hour and half. I recommend that you play it on easy, that's how we all started
